[Initiate teleportation process to the next floor]
Aaron, Isabella, and Sokia's bodies seemed to glow bright white as a sign they were about to be teleported to the next floor.
The main objective of this teleportation process was to arrive at the fifth-floor light stone, which was located outside the Dark Pillar gate area.
With Aaron successfully using the compensation slip, the number of restrictions on entering the Dark Pillar changed to four.
With two of the seven slips he had, Aaron could actually free himself from the restraints of the punishment for killing.
Now, Aaron tried to keep himself out of sight among the people. There was no definite news about whether the fifth floor had its own city; it would have been better if it did. Still, if it didn't, Aaron would have to hide somewhere safe until the Raid notification was reopened.
Aaron's eyes opened, and he clearly saw that he and his two friends were already on the fifth floor, where people were leaving the Dark Pillar.
They kept their eyes on the light stone, how surprised they were to see a man managed to climb up the floor with the murderer's title still attached above his head.
"How could a murderer climb up the floor?"
"Is he a cheater? Is it possible that there are people who can trick the system?"
"If it can be tricked, then he really is scary."
Not even half an hour Aaron had been in the place. He had already received a greeting in the form of cynical and sharp stares from the people on the fifth floor. Isabella heard their remarks and then realized what was happening exactly.
She turned aside, trying to ascertain Aaron's condition. Aaron smiled as he nodded. Everything was fine because he was used to it all.
The young man held Isabella and Sokia's hands, inviting them to find a hiding place. Aaron didn't know where he was going, but staying away from the crowd was better for him.
Surprisingly, as long as he walked in the middle of the forest with Isabella and Sokia, not a single wild monster came to attack.
He occasionally looked back. Sokia's eyes were red with sharp white pupils. What was she doing?
In the distance, they found a wooden house in the forest's center without anyone occupying it. Aaron pointed to the house and said they would use it as a shelter. Isabella and Sokia didn't mind at all.
When the door of the house opened, he was shocked to see that the furniture in that place was still fairly complete, sufficient, and well-maintained. There wasn't even any dust on the nightstand or table, as if someone had cleaned it.
"Not bad," Isabella said.
Although they got a shelter, there were only two rooms in the place. Aaron chose to sleep on the sofa, while Isabella and Sokia were allowed to sleep in their room.
At first, Isabella refused by saying she could sleep with Sokia, but after seeing the single bed size, they had to agree with what Aaron said.
Time goes by, day turns into night. Aaron shot energy spikes in every cardinal direction, then formed a protective dome made of dark magic.
He was pretty confident the durability of the protective dome could keep them protected for a while. Sokia walked out of the house, suddenly roaring like a loud dragon roar.
Crows flew from the trees, wild animals and monsters ran away in fear while avoiding that place. Sokia's sudden roar startled Aaron.
"What is it? Is there an attack?" shocked Aaron, stepping out of the house in a casual suit: T-shirt and shorts.
Sokia shook her head, turned her body around, and stepped into the house after finishing her task.
"I only roared to let them know I was here. They won't come to threaten us again."
Isabella came out in a sleeping pajama suit, which was quite sexy, according to Aaron, but Isabella didn't bother about that. They stepped back inside to rest, and so did Aaron.
He faintly felt a strong fluctuation of magic energy from outside when he was about to rest on the long couch. Aaron opened both eyes and turned his head, noticing who the magic energy belonged to.
"Since when is there a magic barrier in my house?" asked a woman, athletically built with ponytail-style hair.
She stood outside the yard with her arms around a bundle of firewood, useful for keeping warm in the fireplace. Aaron opened the door and saw the woman.
"You? Who are you? What are you doing in my house?!" the woman asked sternly.
'Damn! I thought it was an empty house; no wonder all the furniture looked clean.'
"Calm down. Let's talk about it together inside."
The woman looked forward, reading the red title with the word murderer above Aaron's head. Her eyes narrowed, her hand dropped all her firewood and brought up a magic sword as one of her sub talents.
'Weapon Manifestation Talent,' Aaron said.
"Have you come to kill me? Come here, I won't be afraid of anyone, including you!" snapped the woman.
"I'm not looking to kill you. My two friends and I are new adventurers on this floor, and we need a place to stay until the next raid opens."
Hearing a noise from the front of the house made Isabella curious. The woman stepped closer to Aaron and asked the young man.
She saw a woman in a military tanktop suit that displayed a beautiful array of abdominal muscles standing in the house's front yard while holding a sword.
"Who is she?" asked Isabella.
"I'm Annie. I own the wooden house, and you are occupying it without permission!" said Annie.
"Eh? I didn't know this house had an owner. You didn't make any protection in this house," Isabella replied.
"I didn't because I couldn't!"
Aaron interrupted the conversation by saying he would help keep Annie's house safe with his magic barrier. In exchange, she had to allow Isabella and Sokia to sleep in one of the rooms.
Annie was silent for a moment. She tried to hit the dark magic barrier strongly, but the sword bounced off and the magic barrier was not affected. That suddenly impressed Annie.
"Alright. Only until the raid reopens. As for food, you're on your own. I don't want to share my food with you."
"Do you understand?" asked Annie, Aaron cleared his throat in response.
He reached out to open the wall, allowing Annie to step inside safely. Isabella introduced herself, as did Sokia.
Annie still showed a resentful and disapproving face, but Aaron assured her that wild monsters would not easily break his magic barrier.
Isabella cooked dinner for four people, one of whom was Annie. She said she bought the ingredients before the monster raid on the fourth floor, enough to feed them for three or four days.
Annie was amazed; Isabella's cooking was delicious, savory, and sweet. She who couldn't cook had only tasted home cooking since the first floor of the Dark Pillar.
The night was getting late. Annie went to bed first with Sokia. That left Aaron in the living room while sitting on the couch, drinking cheap alcohol while arranging his status attribute points after leveling up.

'The higher the level, the more EXP required. I need to kill more high-level monsters.'
"Do you mind?"
Annie walked over while carrying a small glass. Aaron turned his head to the side, understanding what the woman indicated.
"Go ahead."
Aaron poured the drink into Annie's glass. She downed it quickly, tasting a sour, sweet, and slightly bitter wine.
In her opinion, this was the best wine she'd had to this day. Aaron smiled happily, thinking that she liked the drink.
"Are you planning to join the raid later?" asked Annie.
"I am. I'm trying to climb the tenth floor quickly."
"But your red title...."
"Don't worry about that. I can handle it."
"Then can I join you? We'll split up when we get to the sixth floor," Annie pleaded.
Aaron narrowed his eyes. Inviting a stranger to join was quite risky for his group. That's what made Aaron have to keep his guard up.
"Sorry. I don't think I can. I'm trying to make things safe in my group, that's all."
