Chapter 2914 Collision of Two Worlds
It took some time for the group to traverse the path to the point Forfex had marked. Yet, for all they had endured and anticipated, the journey felt oddly fleeting. Their minds were preoccupied, each one reflecting on the labyrinthine paths that had brought them here and pondering the uncertain steps still ahead. Before they knew it, they were nearing their destination.
The sudden change in the environment drew their focus outward. What greeted their eyes was an expanse of desolation: countless floating rocks of varying sizes drifting aimlessly amidst the void of space. The scenery was overwhelmed by stillness, as though the area held its breath, waiting for them to make the next move.
"It's time to split up again," Forfex said, his tone heavy with finality. He had sensed the silent shift in his old ally's demeanor, understanding that their paths would soon diverge. "I won't be able to accompany you on this journey, unfortunately."
"Hmm," Minos responded, his expression subtle yet pensive. "Where will you go now?" he asked as Devdar's device flickered, its effects fading. From all around them, space stabilized, the halo of uncertainty gradually giving way to an eerie stillness.
Forfex sighed deeply. "I don't know. Somewhere... somewhere that doesn't connect me to you, to what happened earlier, or to any artifact tied to True Celestials." He glanced at Minos meaningfully, hesitating before continuing. "I desired strength, but after everything I've seen... after your promise, maybe it would be wiser to lie low and wait. I'll protect myself and prepare, but I think it's best not to stir the waters any more than we already have."
Minos regarded him for a few moments, then smiled faintly, a gesture that was neither agreement nor rejection. It was simply understanding. "Perhaps," he said, his tone neutral, yet carrying an undertone that suggested he respected Forfex's choice.
Raising one hand, Minos extended it toward his friend. "Thank you for everything you've done. The next time we meet, it will be in the Upper Realm. Until then, I'll help you from afar in what ways I can."
Forfex hesitated only briefly before clasping Minos' hand. He did not know what exactly Minos' words meant, but over the course of their alliance, he had come to trust this human far more than anyone else he had met.
Though Minos' methods were often enigmatic, Forfex had never doubted the integrity of his intentions. "Good luck to you, Minos. I know that from here on out, the challenges will only grow more severe-and more perilous," he warned, his tone sincere but edged with worry.
Minos nodded as his faint smile shifted into something genuine. His companions, Ruth, Gloria, and Abby, each took a turn in offering Forfex small farewells of their own. Though briefer than Minos' words, their expressions conveyed their gratitude and respect for the warrior.
Before parting, Forfex accepted a spatial ring from Minos. Within it lay the remnants of the resources Forfex had entrusted to Minos in the past. Alongside them were several indispensable items Minos had stored-tools and supplies meant to ensure Forfex's survival as he embarked on his uncertain journey. With a solemn nod, he tucked the ring away, silently accepting his ally's gift.
He said nothing more to the group, leaving them to watch his quiet departure. Forfex disappeared into the vast expanse, his silhouette gradually swallowed by the drifting fragments of ancient rock that surrounded them. When he was gone from sight, Minos and his companions shifted their attention back to their surroundings, their focus inevitably drawn to the source of Minos' interest.
"What is this place?" Gloria asked, her voice tinged with awe and curiosity as the group floated closer to the sphere of bright violet light that pulsed faintly, its glow cutting through the surrounding vastness. It was an anomaly-an ethereal gateway, hovering silently in this graveyard of shattered worlds.
Minos fixed his gaze on the sphere, his eyes sharp as he weighed his words. "It's... difficult to explain," he admitted after a pause. "The collision of two planets created this ruin, the fragmented space you see all around us. But I can't say for certain whether this dimension itself was born from that cataclysm. What I do know is that this 'violet bubble' acts as a portal. What lies beyond it is something akin to a vast dimension comparable to Hell."
"Similar to Hell?" The Divine Dragon's deep voice cut through the silence, his sharp eyes narrowing as he gave the violet sphere a scrutinizing look. "I thought only the Upper Realm was classified in such terms. Are you saying such dimensions exist outside its reach?"
"I thought that too," Minos replied, nodding as he exchanged glances with the celestial beast. "That's what I used to believe. But if what I've analyzed is correct-" he hesitated for just a moment before his conviction returned-"then this place might be an exception."
Before anyone else could speak, Abby said, "Let's move on. We can evaluate the risks later. For now, our priority is to use this opportunity to grow stronger!"
Minos nodded, sharing her sense of urgency, while the others exchanged firm glances of agreement. There was no place for hesitation when the prize awaiting them held such magnitude. Together, the group quickened their pace, cutting gracefully through the void as they moved toward the glowing core of this realm of countless floating rock fragments.
When Minos finally reached the heart of the area, he stopped for a moment and extended his senses, making sure there was no immediate risk in diving into the sphere of violet light ahead. Satisfied with the readings conveyed by Devdar's guidance, he stepped forward without delay, resolutely taking the lead.
The voice of the True Celestial Devdar still echoed faintly in his mind from earlier, spurring him onward. He had no doubt that stepping through this portal was his next destined trial, and the stage at which he would advance further in cultivation.
His heart pounded-not with fear, but with exhilaration.
Minos' powers were already beyond comprehension to most, a near-godlike force that dominated his current plane of existence. And yet, as impressive as his abilities were, he knew they were not enough. With the advancements he expected from venturing into this mysterious dimension, his sights were set far beyond the mundane struggles of his current realm. His goal was clear: to rise to the Upper Realm as one of its strongest forces, a being whose name would evoke both awe and terror across the dimensions!
If his expectations held true, his imminent advance to level 124 would grant him the strength to stand against and even challenge True Celestials of level 128-beings who, in their arrogance, had long stood uncontested across the realms. With his breakthrough to level 125, Minos envisioned himself eclipsing figures of renown like Devdar and Qhava: beings whose strength and reputation were whispered with reverence and fear.
His sights soared higher. Only two figures stood as rumored legends above all others: Lydis, known as the strongest being in existence, and Devil Lothur Ritter, whose power sent chilling ripples across dimensions. Apart from these two mythical entities, Minos was confident there would be no one left. capable of resisting him. At least... no one who would stand in his way for long!
Naturally, Minos entered the violet dimension with great expectations, positive and optimistic about his destiny.
As his body crossed the shimmering boundary of the glowing violet portal, the world around him shifted dramatically.
The sensation was disorienting, yet he embraced it with a calm resolve. Around him, it felt as though he was plunging into a cascade of infinite violet seas, each layer shimmering with ethereal energy. Temporal distortions rippled through the space, tugging at his perception, while spiritual waves washed over his soul, testing his
resilience.
Without warning, the endless oceans of shimmering light gave way to something more tangible. As if slipping through layers of dreams, Minos felt his body break through an invisible barrier and suddenly emerge into reality—or at least a version of it.
Bright light blazed at the bottom of his vision, and a moment later, he broke through the surface of what appeared to be a vast violet lake.
He stood still atop the water, which shimmered faintly with concentric ripples of energy as though responding to his presence. Raising his head, he gazed upward to find an awe-inspiring sight: a sky strewn with countless stars, frozen in an unchanging celestial tapestry. Each star shone with an otherworldly brilliance, radiating hues of violet, gold, and deep blue, yet there was something hauntingly stagnant about them, as if time itself had forgotten to move in this space. Ahead, barely within reach of his sight, he spotted patches of dry land breaking the endless surface of the lake. Small islands floated in the distance like fragments of a once-larger landmass, their jagged edges suggesting destruction long past. However, as serene as the scene seemed at first glance, the absence of life-of movement and sound-made the dimension unnervingly still.
"This place is broken... It's a fragment of what once was, Minos thought as he hovered
over the violet lake, his gaze piercing through the strange, ethereal reality around him. His senses stretched far beyond his visual range, revealing the truth hidden beneath the surface of this enigmatic dimension.
The energy and fundamental laws governing this place were extraordinary. It was a rare nexus of power, offering opportunities to absorb and learn from forces that were both pure and concentrated-possibly more so than anything he had ever encountered before. Yet, like the dimension itself, they felt fractured, disjointed. The environment mirrored this brokenness; an endless lake of violet waters surrounded by scarce patches of solid ground, devoid of life, structure, or definitive laws of order.
It was not just a barren world; it was hollow, like a remnant of something far greater that had been shattered beyond repair.
'Forfex understood this place to be the result of two worlds colliding. But what if they weren't mere worlds?' Minos wondered, his thoughts delving deeper. 'Could they have been higher dimensions, their fusion leaving behind this broken shell?' Seconds later, as his mind churned with theories, the last of his companions emerged
behind him. Minos turned slightly, his golden eyes catching the appearance of the massive form of the Divine Dragon and the lithe figures of Ruth, Gloria, Abby, and Segiel arriving one by one.
"This place is incredible!" the Divine Dragon rumbled in his deep, booming voice, his awe palpable as he took in their surroundings. Yet, behind his amazement, a flicker of tension wrinkled his features. At his level of cultivation, it was exceptionally rare for him to feel oppressed by an environment.
But here, in this dimension, the very air around him seemed to carry a crushing weight. Tendrils of invisible energy wrapped around his beastly form, gnawing at his essence like silent flames, attempting to consume him.
The burning sensation spread through him, sharp and relentless, but it also awoke something primal within the dragon-a feeling most precious to cultivating creatures. His struggle against this force promised growth. The resistance itself was the proof of untapped potential waiting to be drawn out!
He relished the challenge despite the pain, his deep breaths steadying as he began adapting.
Ruth, a perceptive smirk tugging at her lips, closed her eyes briefly, embracing the sensation. She, too, felt her soul being tested, working against the micro-injuries inflicted by the sheer pressure of this place.
Ruth's natural regenerative abilities went to work almost immediately, mending her
soul even as the damage manifested. The cycle of injury and repair brought about the subtle and satisfying feeling of swift improvement-like muscles torn during arduous training, only to rebuild themselves stronger.
The other women, Gloria and Abby, also experienced the dimension's intense effects, though to varying degrees, each based on their abilities and tolerances.
But Segiel struggled. Unlike the others, whose cultivation and soul levels allowed them to withstand the dimension's ambient energy, Segiel was a mid-level Supreme-barely meeting the minimum qualifications to exist here.
The waves of suffocating pressure crashed against her body and soul, threatening to
immobilize her completely. Her movements felt sluggish, every shift of her limbs a monumental task. Were it not for the layers of Minos' soul seals safeguarding her body, and his innate abilities subtly supplying her with borrowed strength, she would have crumbled the moment she stepped into this space.
Minos glanced at Segiel and frowned slightly, noting her difficulty. He made a small
adjustment to the seals he had placed on her, easing the burden on her soul just enough to keep her stable. He'd anticipated this might happen, but her determination to continue the journey had convinced him to bring her along. "You'll manage," Minos said simply as he turned his gaze back toward the violet lake.
With the group gathered and assessing the strange, overwhelming presence of the dimension, Minos addressed them all, setting aside his theories for the time being. "Time to cultivate, everyone," he announced, his tone leaving no room for debate. "This place is like any rich environment-perfect for meditation and advancement. The lake holds the most power, but it's also the most intense and dangerous. The surrounding shore is weaker, but still a valuable opportunity. Choose your spots wisely. We won't leave until we've drawn out everything we can from this place!" The group exchanged glances, each silently motivated by Minos' command. Even Segiel erased the grimace from her face and forced herself to nod.
Without hesitation, the six of them spread out, each selecting areas suited to their current states and needs!
