Chapter 51 Dungeon 2
Chapter 51 Dungeon 2
They arrived at the dungeon; it was a black portal that was giving off massive bad energy. They all got chills just standing there. "Holy shit... maybe this is not a good idea?" The queen, noticing his expression, smiled.
"Well? Would you like to go in immediately, or would you like a little rest first?" Her words were clearly teasing him, which got on his nerves.
"Calm down, it's clearly a dangerous dungeon, but it's also a massive opportunity that I can't miss... but..." He looked at his slimes, still sleeping. This was beginning to worry him. "Can they enter the dungeon? I don't feel good leaving them behind."
"No, we will enter right away. Ready?"
He asked, looking over at Yenna, her eyes wide. "U-Uh huh, I am 'totally' ready, not scared at all. Yep."
The queen chuckled softly; her green eyes gleamed with amusement. "How brave of you both," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She turned toward the black portal, her expression shifting to something more serious. "Remember, once you enter, there's no turning back until you clear the dungeon, so make sure this is what you truly want."
He looked at the portal and started approaching, still nervous he might be rejected since he was carrying monsters, but surprisingly, his body went through. Yenna quickly followed behind him, her whole body still getting chills.

They were gone, and Jia watched from afar, her expression worried, hoping they would come back alive. Her presence was discovered by the queen, but she didn't say anything. ".....Human, I hope you succeed.....so I can end your miserable existence myself."
"....My queen, just what are you planning to do with master?.....Please come back safe. Don't you dare die, not after making me feel this way. You better come back, or I will come after you and kill you myself."

Inside the dungeon, the duo appeared in a massive dry land with many bones scattered all over the place. The sky was red, but there was no sun in sight; it was all so strange. Vell turned his head, and what he saw even made him, the guy who is always confident, take a few steps back. Yenna saw his sudden reaction and looked to see what could possibly give him such a scare.
"What's behind—"
Her words caught in her throat as her eyes widened in sheer terror. Towering over them was a colossal mosquito, its form unlike anything they had ever seen. All they knew was that it was big, way too big, and too silent for its size, but that was not the issue. "That thing... looks hungry," he said, his steps getting faster while his eyes were still locked on the monster.
It let out a shrill screech that pierced the air, shaking the very ground beneath their feet. Yenna stumbled backward, barely managing to stay on her feet.
"Holy—!" Vell instinctively clenched his weapon, his heart racing as adrenaline kicked in. "Hey," he looked over to her, "get ready to run... as fast as you possibly can."
Her eyes darted between him and the monstrous mosquito, her breathing quick and shallow. "R-Run?!" she stammered, her voice barely above a whisper. "From that? Ho—"
"Now!"
His first leap carried so much power that he ended up leaving Yenna too far behind, so far, in fact, that she was out of view. She continued running despite him not being in sight; she didn't lose hope and ran. The mosquito stared at her for a few seconds before striking at incredible speed. She barely avoided death on the first attack.
'Ugh, I am too slow. I need to catch up with Vell. But can I really outrun this thing?' She began running again, her legs trembling, her heart beating fast, but she made sure not to stop; one wrong move and it was death.
The mosquito let out another blood-curdling screech, and she felt the air shift as its massive proboscis struck the ground just inches from her. The impact sent a shockwave that knocked her off balance, but she stumbled forward, refusing to stop.
"Vell!" she shouted, her voice cracking with desperation. But there was no response—only the relentless sound of death closing in.
'No, I can't think about him right now. I need to survive.' Her mind raced as she scanned the landscape for anything that could give her an edge. The creature was too fast, too powerful, and it was clear she couldn't outrun it for long. 'There has to be a way!'
Suddenly, her eyes locked onto a cluster of twisted bone formations ahead, resembling a ribcage half-buried in the ground. It wasn't much, but it might offer a brief moment of cover. Gathering what little energy she had left, she made a desperate dash toward the formation.
The mosquito, sensing her intent, screeched and dove again, its proboscis aimed directly at her. It then charged with precision, and it closed in... there was no way she could dodge this. Before the death blow struck, Vell appeared on top of it, his eyes closed and lightly holding the sword's handle, ready to draw.
'Hahhhhh, you scared me at first; you are massive after all, but now that I have thought about it, you are just a bug, and a bug is still a bug, no matter the size.' His eyes shot open, and as he drew the sword, a cry could be heard. His eyes went black, and an aura covered his sword. It danced as if it were alive.
With a single, fluid motion, he slashed downward, the arc of energy tearing through the air and slicing into the mosquito's massive body. It let out an ear-piercing shriek as the strike connected, a deep gash running across its thorax.
It reeled back, its wings thrashing wildly as it struggled to maintain balance in the air. He landed lightly on the ground, his blackened eyes narrowing as he watched the creature writhe in pain. He sheathed his sword and crouched, his hand touching the ground as black smoke came from his mouth with each exhale.
"One more hit...just one more." He leaped up in the air, right above it; he knew it could not attack as its head was no longer properly attached. He wound up a punch, his right arm veins glowing as he shot downward at its head, landing a destructive blow that sent shockwaves through the air, leaving it silent.
The head landed, and he stood on top of it with a proud expression. "I am fucking strong...no, I am fucking cool."
