Chapter 1870 Meeting Ren Xia Again(3)
When the sect elder sensed the tense atmosphere between Tian Yang and Ren Xia from afar, she thought about approaching them but hesitated.
Just as the sect elder took a step forward, Tian Yang suddenly released a chuckle.
His voice was calm, yet there was an undeniable confidence in his tone.
"You'll capture me and gift me to the Immortal Gu Clan? Sorry, but I don't think you're qualified to do such a thing."
Ren Xia frowned, and her eyes narrowed.
"What did you just say? I'm not qualified?" she repeated, her tone turning sharp. "Who do you think you are?"
"You were just a peak Spirit King fifty years ago," she stated. "I don't know what happened inside the mountain, but I highly doubt you've managed to surpass me in cultivation in such a short time."
Ren Xia's cultivation had already reached the peak of Divine Lord when she first met Tian Yang inside Han Zexian's Tomb.
Now, after fifty years, she had ascended even further, reaching the sixth level of Divine King.
Her growth was nothing short of astounding. In just half a century, she had achieved what would take most cultivators centuries to accomplish.
Within her generation, she was virtually unparalleled. Only the top geniuses from the other Immortal Clans could rival her, and even among them, few could claim to be superior.
As for Tian Yang, his cultivation was only at the Spirit King, not even close to stepping into the Divine Realm. Compared to Ren Xia, the gap between them should have been insurmountable.
Moreover, unlike her, Tian Yang had no access to vast resources or powerful cultivation techniques provided by a prestigious clan. Most importantly, he lacked the talents, which might as well be nonexistent compared to Ren Xia.
By all logic and reason, there was simply no way for Tian Yang to surpass her. At least… that's what Ren Xia truly believed.
Hearing her words, Tian Yang smiled and said, "You're only at the sixth level of Divine King. I can kill you with a single flick to the head with my current strength."
Ren Xia's eyes widened slightly, her initial shock quickly replaced by disbelief.
"You're bluffing!" she snapped, refusing to accept his claim.
Yet, despite her immediate rejection, a sliver of doubt crept into her mind. For Tian Yang to instantly perceive her exact cultivation level, it could only mean two things. Either he had already reached close to her level, or he had surpassed it.
"I would reveal my cultivation to prove myself, but I don't want to cause a scene. However, if you're serious about your threat, go ahead and try capturing me. I didn't escape Han Zexian's Tomb by chance."
Ren Xia clenched her fists under the table and asked, "And what are you going to do to me? Kill me?"
"If I have to," Tian Yang instantly responded without an ounce of hesitation in his voice.
"My family will avenge my death even if it's the last thing they do."
"I am already being hunted by several Immortal Clans. Having another one on that list won't make much difference. I will destroy them all eventually."
Tian Yang's bold words would have enraged anyone from the Immortal Clans, especially someone of Ren Xia's status. To claim he would destroy not one but multiple Immortal Clans—it was nothing short of madness.
And yet…
Ren Xia couldn't help but smile.
A smirk tugged at her lips as she shook her head, a glimmer of amusement flickering in her eyes.
"You're really one crazy son of a bitch—" she said, her tone half-mocking, half-admiring. "But that's exactly what I like about you."
Tian Yang's level of madness and defiance was exceedingly rare, and for someone like Ren Xia, who was attracted to such personalities, it was an irresistible charm.
"Alright," she released a defeated sigh. "I'll try to find out what happened to Kulas, but don't expect much."
"Thank you." Tian Yang nodded.
"Do you have a communication jade slip for me to contact you when I have the information?" Ren Xia then asked.
"No, I don't."
"Then here is mine."
Ren Xia tossed a jade slip at him, and it was not just any ordinary communication jade slip but one she would only use for emergency contact.
"I'll contact you when I have the information on Kulas. Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee you any time frames on when it'll be available."
"I can wait," Tian Yang said.
Ren Xia stood up and began approaching him.
"So, what are you going to do now? Do you have a place to stay? My house is pretty spacious, you know?"
Tian Yang raised an eyebrow at Ren Xia's ridiculous offer, his expression clear with disbelief.
"Are you seriously asking someone who's being hunted by the Immortal Clans to stay with you?" he asked. "I even threatened you not long ago. You're just asking for trouble now."
"You're worried about me? Maybe I do have a chance, after all." Ren Xia chuckled.
"Sorry, but that's not possible."
"Why do you say that? Do you already have a partner? You don't give such vibes." Ren Xia looked genuinely surprised.
"I did, but she's no longer in this world," Tian Yang admitted.
"Is that so? You have my condolences."
"I'm leaving now."
Just as Tian Yang prepared to leave, Ren Xia suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him back.
Caught off guard, he instinctively turned his head. "What are you—"
Before he could finish, Ren Xia's face was already close to his. And then she swiftly leaned in, pressing a soft kiss against his cheek.
The unexpected gesture left a fleeting warmth on Tian Yang's skin. For a moment, there was silence.
As Tian Yang opened his mouth, Ren Xia smiled and said, "I'll see you later."
And before he could respond, she turned around and flew away, her figure vanishing in an instant, moving so fast that it almost seemed like she was fleeing the scene.
The sect elder, who had just witnessed the shocking scene unfold before her eyes, could only stand there, completely dumbfounded.
'T-they were lovers?!' she cried inwardly, struggling to process what she had just seen. 'That explains their awkward atmosphere!'
