Chapter 334 – When ‘Immortals’ ‘Fight’
The sky darkened even more, thanks to a certain Fox having tendencies to overdo everything.
The Beasts could only blankly stare at the sky, as the cloud had no intentions of shrinking.
"So... we had the same Evolution, huh?" The Azure Dragon chuckled. His resistance to sudden bullshit was quite strong with the time he spent with Aiko.
"..." The other Beasts didn't know how to properly answer that. At first, they were concerned, then shocked and now finally speechless.
This kind of ridiculous sight could only be observed in the Immortal World. It was impossible for something like this in Mortal World.
"Will the Secret Realm survive?" The Black Tortoise asked worryingly.
"Secret Realms are still failed creations of a Small World, they are much tougher than you would expect." The Azure Dragon narrowed his eyes. It was unlikely that it would completely shatter, but it might turn out inhabitable after Aiko was finished.
The Dragon sighed gently. "I can feel presence approaching this place, you know what to do."
The Beasts narrowed their eyes. History was being written in front of them, so it was only natural that they would not allow the stinking Humans to approach it.
...
The first Human Cultivator approached. His Cultivation stage could not be suppressed in this place and he was displaying quite vigorous energy.
Before the Cultivator could approach the one that was Evolving, he was stopped by a freaking Dragon!
The Cultivator couldn't utter a word before the Dragon's Divine Sense smashed into him.
The Cultivator had to put his all into defending, otherwise, he would be immediately crippled!
More and more Cultivators came into this Secret Realm and they were pretty much swarming towards the Evolution point.
"Well, help me out, you bastard!" The Azure Dragon roared. The Cultivators could not damage him, so they were tying him up with ropes.
The Three-Legged Crow blinked innocently. "You got weaker, huh..." It waved its wing and they instantly vaporised a group of Cultivators... alongside 10% of the Secret Realm.
The Black Tortoise pulled out a strange plank and surfed the waves he was creating.
His waves swallowed many Cultivators and flooded the fires, alongside 15% of the Secret Realm.
The White Tiger roared as lightning tornadoes formed around the Secret Realm. They were charged and dangerous and were freely roaming around. Whenever they would meet with fire, they would become fire tornadoes and when they met water, they would supercharge the water with lightning, creating a deadly trap for anyone who would fall into it.
He was able to demolish 25% of the Secret Realm, since his Metal Element was also wreaking havoc around.
Mei was sipping her tea as she looked outside. The disasters were spreading, but thanks to the Azure Dragon, they were all safe and sound.
The Immortals charged forward like they lost their mind, while the Beasts had a field walk. They were able to soothe their feelings about being defeated in the Immortal World and sealed into the Mortal World.
The Azure Dragon was observing their rampage and decided to hide inside his shield while also strengthening it. This would allow him to keep everyone safe, while also executing his mission to get out of this place.
-----
The Beasts were completely wreaking havoc as one Fox was carelessly enjoying her time.
Aiko looked around. She was Evolving, but she was still conscious. It was a truly strange feeling as she could feel those different Energies mixing inside her.
She was a bit grumpy that she couldn't control those energies, but it couldn't be helped; she was not as powerful as those 4 Beasts.
The energies didn't hurt her, so Aiko was not worried. She could feel her body slowly transforming, but it would seem like it would take a lot of time...
Aiko noticed her Beast Cores were also being tempered and remembered this feeling.
'Maybe I would be able to temper my Beast Cores?' Aiko tilted her head. It would be unlikely that she would find so much energy to temper them.
Aiko didn't find this feeling unpleasant, but it was quite draining.
Thanks to the abundance of energy, Aiko could feel her strength rising in real-time.
'Evolutions are great, but the consequences...' Aiko shook her head. Evolutions were usually not accompanied by lightning, but an intense drain on the Beast's resources and energies.
Aiko had the whole package, which made her upset. She would definitely shaft the one that was behind this!
The energies kept rushing into her body and Aiko could just lazily lie around...
-----
The Beasts were starting to get concerned, since they never expected that so many Mahayana Cultivators would come. There were so many of them that it broke Mei's heart.
'So many resources wasted.' She clicked her tongue. She was not worried about her safety since they had a freaking Dragon on their side, but it still pained her heart, to see so many delicious Souls being wasted so quickly.
'I wonder who sent them...' Mei narrowed her eyes. This Mortal World would not be able to hold so many Mahayana Cultivators, so it was obvious that they had to come from somewhere else.
They were not Devil Cultivators, nor Demon Cultivators, so they couldn't come from there.
They also weren't Hell Cultivators, so that was one more faction out of the equation.
The only people left would be hidden masters, which was unlikely and the Immortal World or Fiendish Sect, but if the Fiendish Sect had so many powerful Cultivators this whole world would be already turned upside down...
Immortal World Cultivators were now the most likely culprit, but it still shocked Mei.
Why? Because Immortals can't easily descend into the Mortal World.
They would be restricted to the Peak of Mahayana Cultivation and as such would be vulnerable to outside sources. None of the Immortals that she knew would be willing to do that.
That left banishment for crime or abolishment of Immortal Cultivation.
The former would be unlikely, since there was a special World for that. The latter was also unlikely, since no Cultivator that reached the Immortal World would be willing to lose his Cultivation just so he could descend.
This whole thing was bizarre. Mei would understand if they sent only a few Immortal Cultivators, since they could use the Heavenly Descension Stones, or whatever they were called.
They would conceal you from the Heavenly Laws of Mortal Worlds and you would be able to freely come and go.
However, those stones were too precious and few in number to be used like this.
Mei sighed. She was tired from all of this thinking. She would have to Cultivate soon, so that she could recover her brain power...
...
The Beast kept fighting for a year, when the numbers finally started thinning.
"I'm sooo tired!" The Black Tortoise no longer used his plank for fun, but as a raft to keep him afloat, so that he could bask in the black clouds... Yeah, he couldn't even catch bronze from the sun, since a certain Fox covered almost the entire Secret Realm!
He was so upset that he wanted to blast those clouds away, but he was unable to...
The pressure from those clouds was no joke and the only thing that protected them from being squeezed dry was the barrier that the Azure Dragon formed.
They had to be careful not to accidentally break it otherwise they would die!
...
After 2 years from the start of Evolution, no Immortal Cultivators came to this place. It seemed like they either ran out of people or gave up.
This was good news for the Beasts since they were completely drained.
"I will sleep for hundreds of years..." The Black Tortoise complained and the other Beasts nodded with him.
The Azure Dragon chuckled. He was weaker than ever. "You can't rest. It's time for you to maintain this barrier." He chuckled with glee. His time was upon him, so it was time to leave.
"Damn you! Couldn't you live a bit longer!" The Three-Legged Crow complained. He was horrible at creating and maintaining barriers.
He was not like the Dragons who had to keep constant barriers around the Immortal World, so it would flood within moments!
"Good luck." The Azure Dragon chuckled.
"Are you leaving?" Mei asked gently.
"If everything goes well, we will reunite soon, Mei." The Azure Dragon chuckled again.
"Should we look for your egg, so that we can get you out of this place?" Mei sighed. She believed that he was too carefree for the fact that he was about to die of old age...
"It shouldn't matter in theory, but if something goes wrong, please do." The Azure Dragon chuckled before he breathed out for the last time.
Aiko's Evolution took too long, so he was unable to completely finish his plan and would have to hope that everything would turn out okay.

*Shatter*
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE RAN OUT OF IMMORTALS?!" The handsome man was no longer handsome, but a distorted old geezer.
"We sent all the Immortals into the Mortal World, but none returned." The masked individual sighed carelessly.
"No more Immortals?" It felt like the handsome man had lost all his hair and sanity too!
"No more Immortals." The masked individual shook his head.
The 'handsome' man collapsed into his chair. "What am I going to do now...?"
"You will sleep, brother." The masked individual said softly and the 'handsome' man turned towards him.
His sanity was low, but he still understood those words. Unfortunately, he was too late and the dagger was already piercing his heart.
"Why?" The 'handsome' man could not understand why he was being treated like this.
The masked individual shook his head. "If you still don't understand what you did wrong, then you didn't deserve to be the head in the first place." She took down her mask.
"Brother?" The 'handsome' man was completely confused. This was not his masked brother, who was this?!
"You are even more hopeless than I thought..." A soft voice spread throughout the room. "It's time to give up, brother. It's time to let go." She twisted that knife, which unlocked powerful poison and watched as her brother's body dissolved completely.
"IF you can't even understand something as simple as who I am, then you never deserved her 'hand' in the first place." She shook her head. "Now... how am I supposed to greet my spouse?" She didn't think that her brother was THIS incompetent!
