“Aha! I get it now!” Green exclaimed, as if a lightbulb went off in its head. “You must have defeated the Fiery-eyed Lion and claimed its eyes, right?”

?Lee Tian was taken aback, for the reality was strikingly close to Green’s guess.

“I need to be as decisive as you!” Green declared.

But then it hung its head, its mood turning somber.

Sadly, it murmured, “It’s just too bad you have to head into the mountains.”

Lee Tian offered a smile, hoping to lift the gloomy mood.

He patted Green’s head and suggested, “Why not join me on the mountain trek?”

He had grown considerably larger than Green, his leg nearly as thick as Green’s waist!

Upon hearing the invitation, Green quickly shook its head, vehemently declining, “No, the mountains are teeming with formidable creatures. I’d surely perish if I went!”

“That’s not possible!” Lee Tian’s eyes bulged in disbelief.

Green anticipated words of reassurance.

But Lee Tian bluntly added, “Given your size, you’d make quite the feast for them!”

In an instant, Green’s mood flared to anger!

Seeing Green’s expression, Lee Tian couldn’t help but laugh.

He added, “I’m just heading into the mountains for a bit. I’ll be back before you know it.”

Green looked puzzled. “You’re planning to return?”

“Absolutely!” Lee Tian’s eyes sparkled as he gazed into the distance. With a hopeful tone, he shared, “Miss Zhou Yuyan mentioned she would return during the Winter Hunt Trial at the Taixuan Sect!”

“So, it’s likely in the winter, isn’t it?”

He pondered for a moment.

“The Winter Hunt Trial? In the winter?” Green’s demeanor turned grave as it asked, “Is that the hunt that occurs every four years, the one where humans go hunting in the winter?”

Lee Tian’s interest was piqued. “Is there a Winter Hunt every year? Have you witnessed it? When does it usually take place?”

“I’ve only encountered it once, the very time I nearly froze to death!” Green said, still visibly upset by the memory.

It explained, “We of the Snake Race typically begin hibernating before winter sets in, so we’re not sure exactly when the Human Race goes on their ‘Winter Hunt.’ I’ve only heard from some of the elder snakes that a group of humans, not hunters, venture into the mountains for a hunt every four years…”

Green flicked its tongue, ready to recount the tale.
