Chapter 494 Ending The Chapters of The Past [1]

After taking his rewards from Wuhan, Noah walked back to his position under the envy and awe-filled gazes. He felt the hostile gazes disappearing one by one. After saying a few final words, Wuhan's golden figure turned into bright fragments before vanishing into the night light.

The reason Wuhan hosted this event in the evening was to amplify the visual effects of alchemy against the dark background, much like how fireworks are set off at night to be more spectacular.

The supervisors bowed deeply to Wuhan's disappearing figure. Upon seeing the emperor vanish, the rest of the participants turned towards the same direction at the same time.

They all wanted to get acquainted with the talented rank 5 alchemist. With his skill, it was clear that Noah's achievements would not be ordinary, which is why everyone was eager to form ties with him.

But…

"Where did he go?"

"Did anyone see where he went?"

Unfortunately for them, the person they were looking for had long vanished from the stage.

That day, Captain Black Sword swore never to take the duty of overseeing any crowd event again. Not being able to find Noah, everyone rushed in his direction to ask him about the boy.

From their earlier conversation, they guessed that the two of them had an extraordinary friendship.

Only after he used his aura to push them away did the lazy man have the chance to escape the crowd's scrutiny.

...

"Aren't you going to meet your fans?" In a closed private room, Wuhan looked in a certain direction with a teasing look on his face.

Opposite him stood Noah in his original appearance. Rolling his eyes at him, Noah walked towards Xin Yan, who was still seated on the sofa, and Elysia, who was sitting in the air beside her.

"I hear your name more than mine in the audience, oh benevolent emperor." Noah shot back a smirk of his own while offering the two of them his hands. It was Wuhan's turn to ignore his words.

Taking each of his hands, the two women stood up from their seats with smiles on their faces.

"Congratulations~" said Xin Yan with a warm smile on her face. Even though this competition was not very challenging for Noah, she felt more than happy to celebrate each one of his triumphs, no matter how small.

Elysia also flew around Noah and wrapped her arms around his neck, pressing her body against his back.

"You did great, dear~" Hearing the enchanting voice tingling his ears, Noah's face bloomed as well.

"Shall we go back now? Or do you guys want to look around the capital?"

"We can look around later. After all, we are not leaving anytime soon." Xin Yan chuckled before shaking her head to deny his offer. She turned her head towards Wuhan before asking, "When is the fighting tournament?"

Wuhan, who knew about their plans for the tournament, smiled wryly before replying, "It will be in three days. You have enough time to go on your dates."

Wuhan paused as if he recalled something. "By the way, I sent some people to keep an eye on Long Xiang. If there are any strange movements from his side, I will let you know."

With Elysia by his side, Noah did not necessarily need Wuhan's interference, but since the guy had already gone out of his way to do something for him, he wouldn't reject his goodwill.

Noah nodded with gratitude. "Just tell me if he tries to leave the city and run away. I will handle the rest."

"I will." Wuhan nodded before standing up as well to leave along with them. "I will leave through the back entrance. You are more than welcome to join."

"It's fine, we will walk through the front gate. I have some things to deal with anyway." Noah replied with a mysterious smile, puzzling Wuhan a little.

"Well, it's your choice. I will leave first then." Shaking his head, Wuhan slashed his hand and tore through the space before him.

Stepping into the void, he vanished from their sight.

*Woosh!*

Without leaving any traces behind, the crack vanished as if Wuhan was never there in the first place.

"We should leave early as well, or it might get annoying to walk around." Noah led the two women out of the room, holding their hands. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire

Elysia and Xin Yan did not mind spending more time with Noah and immediately agreed with his suggestion.

Walking out of the room, Noah cleverly ignored the crowd using his illusionary seal. On their way out of the arena, the three of them saw a certain young master making a fuss about the death of his servant.

"Where did those annoying flies run off to now?" Elysia frowned, seeing no signs of the cloaked figures they saw before. Just before she could use her power to locate them, Noah replied.

"It looks like they became cautious after hearing about my background. But it doesn't matter, we can deal with them one way or another."

...

The next few days passed with the same tranquility as they enjoyed their lives, having dates and intimate moments in private.

The place they were staying at was none other than the same courtyard they rented upon first arriving in the capital. Since the place was still rented under their name through Wuhan's connection, it was the only place that was not booked in the whole city.

With the tournament ongoing, people from all around the empire were eager to participate and show their might to the world, making a name for themselves.

Wuhan's actions from the alchemist tournament incident also spread like wildfire. His actions and words of loyalty blazed a flame of ambition for the people to join the royal family and serve under him.

It did not take long before the three days passed and the day of the fighting tournament arrived.

Sitting in the middle of the hall of his rented place, Noah, wearing his mask, sipped the sweet tea made by his dear Xin Yan as he listened to the report from a young woman sent by Wuhan.

"Young master, Long Xiang is making his way towards the capital city!"
