Chapter 786: Getting Ready for the Award Ceremony
?
The soft hum of activity filled the suite at the five-star hotel in Catadrid where Theo and Aurora were making their final preparations for one of the biggest nights of their lives. The Sapphire Awards were just hours away, and the energy in the room was a mix of excitement, anticipation, and a hint of nervousness. Both of them had spent the better part of the day getting ready, knowing that once they stepped onto the red carpet, all eyes would be on them.
Theo sat in front of a large mirror in his private room, watching as the hairstylist worked on the final touches of his hair. His silver locks had been pulled into an intricate high bun, with a few delicate braids woven throughout, adding texture and elegance to his look. The braids, which framed his face, made his long hair appear even more regal, and the stylist had carefully ensured that the style would complement his Moonlight persona perfectly.
As the hairstylist finished, Theo glanced at the TV on the far side of the room, which was tuned to a live broadcast covering the Sapphire Awards red carpet. Though it was still early in the afternoon, the buildup to the event was well underway. The coverage showed a few early arrivals, mostly industry insiders and some smaller artists, but the excitement was palpable. The real buzz would begin once the night's major stars started to arrive.
Theo took a deep breath and leaned back in his chair, appreciating the calm before the storm. It had been a long morning of fittings, adjustments, and planning, but everything was falling into place. His outfit had just been delivered after the final adjustments by the stylist team, and it was hanging on the rack behind him, waiting for the moment he would transform into Moonlight once again. He avoided looking directly at it, preferring to keep it as a surprise for himself until the last possible moment.
The hairstylist stepped back and smiled. "All done," she said, giving Theo a nod of approval. "You look fantastic."
Theo smiled back, thanking her. His voice was soft and calm, still recovering from the strain of the concert the previous night. "Thanks. It's perfect."
As the stylist packed up her tools, Theo's phone buzzed with a message from Ayia. She and Aurora were in the next room, finishing up their own preparations. Ayia had insisted on personally doing Aurora's makeup, a task that had become almost ritualistic for them whenever Tsukuyomi made a public appearance. Since only the upper half of Aurora's face would be visible under her mask, Ayia focused on making her eyes, brows, and forehead stand out.
Theo stood up and stretched, feeling the weight of the day's anticipation settle in his chest. He glanced at the clock-it was just after 3:30 PM, and they needed to leave for ArtReam Hall by 4:00 PM to ensure they had enough time to walk the red carpet and make their way inside before the ceremony began.
Satisfied with his hair, Theo walked over to the couch in the corner of the room and sat down, picking up the remote to raise the volume on the TV. The live coverage continued, with the host interviewing a few minor artists who had just arrived on the red carpet. It was a strange feeling, knowing that in just a little while, he and Aurora would be the ones stepping out of the limo, into the bright lights of the cameras, and into the world's view.
A few minutes later, the door to Theo's room opened, and Ayia slipped in quietly. She looked radiant, her own hair and makeup done perfectly, though she wasn't dressed for the red carpet just yet. She smiled warmly as she walked over to Theo and stood behind him, resting her hands on his shoulders.
"How's everything going?" she asked, her voice calm and soothing.
"Good," Theo replied, leaning his head back slightly to look up at her. "My hair's all done. I'm ready to get dressed in a bit."
Ayia nodded, then sat down next to him on the couch, glancing at the TV. "I've been watching the coverage too. It's hard to believe that in less than an hour, we'll be out there."
Theo chuckled softly. "Yeah, it feels surreal."
"How's Aurora?" he asked, his eyes flicking back to the door that led to the adjacent room where Aurora was getting ready.
"She's doing great," Ayia said with a grin. "We're almost done with her makeup. I'm just making sure the upper half of her face is absolutely stunning. She's a little nervous, but I think that's normal."
Theo smiled, feeling a sense of calm wash over him. "That's good. I'm sure she'll look amazing."
Ayia patted his leg gently before standing up. "I'm going to finish up with her now. I'll come back when she's ready, and then we'll help you get dressed."
Theo watched her leave the room, his heart swelling with affection. Ayia had been the rock that held everything together. Her calm, organized nature had helped them navigate this whirlwind of fame, and tonight was no exception. Even with the nerves and pressure of the Sapphire Awards looming, Ayia was always there, making sure everything went smoothly. He turned his attention back to the TV, where a few more big names had started arriving on the red carpet. The host was in the middle of introducing the next segment, where they would talk about the nominees for Best New Artist-the category that Moonlight was competing in. "Let's talk about the artist everyone has been buzzing about-Moonlight," the host said, her smile wide and excited. "With his mysterious identity and his breakout success, he's been the talk of the industry this year. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if he'll take home the Best New Artist award tonight, and we can't wait to see what he's wearing on the red carpet."
Theo felt a knot of nervousness in his stomach as the segment continued. While he knew the recognition was an honor, the idea of being so publicly scrutinized still made him uneasy. Plus, with everyone saying that he would surely win in the category of Best New Artist, only made him even more nervous.
What if he didn't win?
He had always preferred to let his music speak for itself, and the constant attention was something he was still getting used to.
Just then, Ayia re-entered the room, her face glowing with excitement. "Aurora's ready," she announced. "Now, let's get you dressed."
Theo stood and walked over to the rack where his outfit hung. Ayia joined him, helping him unzip the garment bag. He stared at the carefully tailored outfit for a moment, appreciating the attention to detail before pulling it off the hanger.
As Theo changed into his outfit, Ayia moved around him, adjusting the fabric, ensuring every detail was perfect. When he was fully dressed, Ayia stepped back to admire the final result.
"You look incredible," she said, her voice filled with pride.
Theo turned to the mirror and saw Moonlight staring back at him. The transformation was complete. His long silver hair, styled in an elegant bun with braids, complemented his sharp, mysterious look. His signature mask, which would cover the lower half of his face, was waiting on the dresser, ready for the final touch.
Aurora appeared in the doorway, her own transformation into Tsukuyomi complete. Her hair was styled beautifully, and the upper half of her face, framed by her ornate mask, was flawless -Ayia's handiwork making her look every bit the ethereal artist she portrayed.
Theo and Aurora exchanged a look, both of them knowing that the night ahead was going to
be unforgettable.
"It's time," Ayia said with a grin.
Theo slipped on his mask, feeling the familiar weight settle over his face. He looked at his reflection one last time before turning to Aurora and Ayia.
Ayia was ready as well, even though she wouldn't walk the red carpet with them, she would be behind the scenes taking care of things for them, so she had to appear like an experienced
professional manager today.
"Let's do this," he said, his voice calm but filled with excitement.
And with that, they left the suite, ready to face the spotlight at the Sapphire Awards.
