Chapter 106 Prison assignment
Chapter 106 Prison assignment
"This coordinates! It's indeed at a desert!" the man at the computer shouted, and he saved the coordinates.
"Get the other apostles ready to move out; we stop the ghoulshippers once and for all," Ciel said, and the people dispersed.
Harry and Hannah later came, and Xander met with them.
"Any news?" Hannah asked, and Xander nodded.
"We've tracked down their base. We're getting ready to move now," he said to them, and they smiled.
"If ghouls are really as scary as you describe them to be, we'll be saving the world by stopping them from coming to Earth," Harry said with a smile.
...
It had been three hours, and over a hundred Apostles gathered.
"We'll be moving out tomorrow. But before that, I need you and a few others to check out some strange activity," Ciel said to Xander, and he nodded.
Seeing his son acting normal in the presence of all the chaos, Ciel couldn't help but let out a breath.
"I'm really sorry for having you involved in all of this," Ciel said, and Xander looked at him and sighed.
"Just tell me what you want me to do," Xander said to his father, and then Ciel began to explain.
"Well, we got some reports that there have been disturbing activities happening in the prison south of the city where they keep returnees. I want you guys to go check it out; it seems like the ghoulshippers also have activities there," Ciel said to him, and Xander nodded before walking away.
He looked back at his father and smiled as he watched the man walk back to his office. Experience exclusive tales on empire
'Well, he sure is caring,' Xander thought before going ahead to meet up with Yukimira.
Seeing the Japanese man who had a scar on his face, he approached him.
"Hey, my dad wants us to go check out the strange activity in the south prison," Xander said to him, and he gazed at the boy.
"Seriously, right now? Everyone is preparing to raid the ghoulshippers' base," Yukimira said, and Xander chuckled too.
"Yeah, let's just do it quickly. Maybe Natasha would come with us," Xander said, and Yukimira nodded.
"Well, let's get this over with," the man said, and then he walked with Xander towards the sparring room where the two of them had their duel weeks ago.
Inside, they saw Natasha fighting with four other apostles with only her fists. She moved faster, as if she was wrapped in a layer of smoke that moved with her, making her body seem fluid.
"That's enough!" Yukimira said as he walked forward, and Natasha frowned at him.
"What is it?" she asked, looking at the four apostles and signaling them to leave.
"Well, we have an assignment from the boss. Come on," Yukimira said, and then he walked out of the training room.
Natasha gritted her teeth at his behavior, and then she put on her black combat outfit before walking out of the room.
"You know, I was in the middle of beating those kids together. Maybe I could learn a thing or two about my arcana," she said to Yukimira, pouting her lips.
"Well, sorry for that. Come on, I'll tell you the details as we go," Yukimira said, and Xander only waved at her as they went to the elevator.
"So, apparently there's a rumor we heard from a returnee that prisoners were getting tortured and screams would echo around the place.
The boss suspects this to be the act of the ghoulshippers, considering the fact that they created the returnees..."
After Yukimira explained, their objective was clear now. The only problem was how they were going to get to the prison.
"We only have about 13 hours before they leave," Xander said, and Natasha raised a brow.
"Before who leaves?" she asked with a raised brow.
"...ah."
It was then that Xander realized she wasn't there when the location of the ghoulshippers' base was tracked.
Arriving at the surface, they began to discuss their plans.
"For now, I don't even have an idea of how we're going to get into the prison," Yukimira said, and Natasha facepalmed.
"So you have no plan?" She looked at him, slightly annoyed.
"Calm down. Remember that the elites take all the returnees to the south prison, so we need to make them come arrest us—free transport," Xander said, and Natasha nodded.
"That could work. We would need to change our uniforms, though," she said, and they proceeded with their plan.
They came out onto the tennis court, left the area, and then began to go from building to building.
'It shouldn't be hard finding a place where chaos is happening. The returnees are still running rampant,' Xander thought, and they kept looking.
Soon, they saw a place where there were flames producing smoke, which rose high into the sky.
"Over there!" Yukimira shouted as he sped up, and Xander and Natasha rushed behind him.
They arrived close to the scene to see more than two men outside who were wielding all sorts of items.
"We need to hurry before they start coming!" one of the men shouted, and another three came out from within.
With bags full of gold and diamonds, they threw them into a truck.
"Ah, the elites haven't come; we can't let them go yet," Xander said, and then a chain with a blade at the end went towards the tire of the car, bursting it before wrapping around it.
A total of ten guys who had hopped on the car turned to look at the long chain and saw Xander looking at them with an anxious expression.
"Who is this punk?! We're running out of time!" one of the guys shouted, and then one of them immediately threw a metal rod at him, which Xander caught despite its high speed.
He threw it towards another tire, and it burst too.
"What the fuck is this guy's deal? Get him!" They all came down and lunged at him at the same time.
Yukimira and Natasha suddenly came from behind, and the ten people were shocked for a moment.
And in that moment, the sound of a chopper approaching could be heard in the distance.
