Chapter 74 Movement

"We could have taken them on," Xander said in a low tone with a sigh.

"Don't forget that some of us here are weaker than the others." Harry reminded his friend.

Xander looked at Harry and just smiled. Even if he and Hannah was weaker than him, with the speed of his telepathic weapon 'mind scythe' he would be able to wipe out the elites without breaking a sweat and they still will be unscathed.

"Didn't expect anything like this to happen." Hannah said before turning to Xander. "What were those men telling you?"

"They mentioned something about killing in the prison where they are being held." Xander frowned in confusion. "If that's true then that would probably mean a ghoulshipper is in that prison too as any death of a player will count as a sacrifice."

Both Harry and Hannah was taken aback by Xander's words.

"Wait. So those men right now..." Harry understood where Xander was going.

"Yup. They escaped and now it seems like something is going to happen to them in the prison." Xander concluded.

Harry pondered over the situation while Hannah spoke up.

"But why would a ghoulshipper be in a government facility?" She was confused.

The government was working to stop the chaos. This could mean that someone in power was also a ghoulshipper who was helping to eliminate the returnees and increase the sacrifice count.

Xander sighed. "Seems like peace of mind is getting more further away from me."

He looked back at Harry and Hannah who were arguing about something.

"You weren't."

"Hannah, why do you have to be so oppressive?"

"I'm a girl. It's in my nature. Now admit that you were the one that cut that guy's arm off."

"I did. And I would kill him if I see him again." Harry said, catching Hannah off guard.

Xander, seeing the tension between the two people who's names start with a 'H', decided to intervene.

"Let's head back to the base. Your family is safe." He suggested.

Harry looked like he didn't want to head back now and Xander understood.

"Or... how about we stay with your family for a while?"

Harry smiled at Xander and Hannah agreed immediately. "Sounds good, they must be terrified after being held at gunpoint."

That day the group stayed at Harry's house. Xander finally got to fulfill his promise to Eve and play with her like he promised before all the problems started.

The place was really lively with Xander and his group around and Harry's family was finally able to shake off the feeling of fear.

"And just as Xander was about to get eaten by the giant bug creature, I rescued him with my awesome powers of shadow without breaking a sweat." Harry wiped his nose with his thumb as he bragged.

"Woah. I want to join your adventures brother."

The entire table went quiet and everyone slowly turned to the little girl who was smiling brightly. No one said anything as Eve was still a child.

"Don't wish to join okay. Wish to avoid it as it's more scary than that talking teddy." Harry said as he made clawing moves with his hand.

"Ack! Not talking teddy!" Eve squealed and hid under the table making everyone laugh joyfully as the little girl was just too cute.

After the dinner, what was left now was to distribute how they'll sleep.

"We could share a room." Xander wrapped an arm around Harry's neck.

"Well. Then I guess it's me and you little Eve." Hannah said as she pinched Eve's cheek.

"I wanted to stay with brother." Eve pointed her senior brother with a sad face.

"I can't sleep alone Eve. I'm scared of the dark." Hannah said in a sad tone, making the little girl chuckle.

"This big girl will protect sister Han." Eve patted her chest before patting Hannah on her head as she was crouching.

The parents slept together while Hannah and Eve stayed together in another room.

Xander couldn't sleep and just stared out of the window while thinking about how he'll save his mother and planning his steps if he manages to get hold of at least one of the ghoulshippers' members.

"What are you doing bro?"

Xander turned to see Harry standing up to come to him.

"Just thinking. My mom is still in the custody of those ghoulshippers. I just hope Sandra's dad lead us to where their base is and then we can stop all this once and for all."

He wouldn't like to be transported back into the game dimension. He'll like to finish this now, once and for all.

"Don't worry. He'll take the bait once he knows that we're coming for him." Harry assured as he put a hand on Xander's shoulder.

"I hope so."

The ghoulshippers are becoming more and more mysterious as days pass by. Xander knew that they wanted to bring some god from another dimension to earth for purging or something like that but why?

It doesn't make sense as if this god was hostile they would all die. Plus, the race known as ghouls would March out of the portals which could cause humanity to face extinction.

'Thank goodness school went on a break. I can't afford to repeat an entire class.' Xander thought.

With the recent activities and more outbreaks and crimes caused by the returnees schools closed down temporarily until the risk was neutralized.

Neutralizing the risk was still not going to be able to be accomplished anytime soon so Xander didn't worry about that for now.

That night Xander only slept for a few hours, only to be woken up by the soundof his phone ringing.

He immediately picked up the call and put the phone close to his ear.

"Hello."

"Yeah. Come to the base immediately." Natasha's voice came feom the other end.

Seeing that Xander got up Harry turned to him, still feeling sleepy.

"Can it wait?" Xander asked as he yawned.

"No. Scanners are showing that Sandra is on the move. Get your ass down her right now."
