Chapter 98 Leaving Arzon

Chapter 98 Leaving Arzon

Xander decided to stay for the rest of the day. He also noticed that time was a bit slower in this world as he was sure that it has been hours since he killed the king.

"Do you have to go?"

Xander looked behind him to see Rebecca there, fully dressed in her white gown and she was looking extremely beautiful.

"First of all you look beautiful. And yes, I have to leave. My friends are out there and they don't know the current situation where we came from." Xander said in a sad tone.

Harry and Hannah must have settled in this world after thinking that the ghoulshippers had been defeated.

Rebecca only nodded sadly as she bent her head down.

"Hm. How about I stay one more day?" Xander said and immediately Rebecca's face lit up as she smiled widely.

Xander accompanied Rebecca to the coronation and a lot of people actually supported her and normally, a lot didn't approve but they couldn't say anything as the imperial knights were now controlled by Rebecca.

The coronation went by smoothly and after that Xander and Rebecca made their way to the room where Martha would be staying from now on.

When they entered the room they saw her holding a book in her hand and reading.

"You like books?" Xander walked towards her and she nodded.

"Un."

"Let me see." Xander sat beside her and she began speaking in her low tone as she showed Xander a particular page.

"Why did the princess not use her hair to escape instead?"

"I don't know, Rapunzel was a very stupid and useless human being."

Martha nodded, agreeing with Xander.

"Oh, yeah. There's someome I want you to meet." Xander said and Martha removed her eyes from the pages of the book as she looked at Xander with a raised brow.

Xander the gestured for Rebecca who was standing at the door to come and she did.

"This is Rebecca. You'll be in her care from now on."

Martha looked at her weirdly and she just asked, "Are you brother Xander's wife?"

"Hmmm. You could say that."

"And what do you mean by 'in her care from now on'?" Martha pouted with a frown.

"Martha. I don't belong here. I have a family that I have to go back to. And where I come from, there is a huge crisis there." Xander explained.

"Will you come back?" Martha asked, her tone already dictating that she was about to cry.

"If I can, I would come see you okay?"

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Xander wrapped a finger around the little girl's and that's how they formed a pact.

"I'll be around throughout tomorrow. How about we go out to the city together?"

Martha immediately shook her head.

"I prefer to stay here and read books. Bad people are outside."

Xander once again pitied the little girl. This mentality of hers needed to be changed but he had no way to do it now.

"Okay, how about I bring you more books?"

"That would be great."

...

Xander left to enter the city and two imperial knights escorted him.

Although he tried so many times to tell them that he didn't need their escort, they still insisted to escort him and here he is now.

They led him to a bookstore and Xander bought a lot of books in the store, mostly fiction since Martha didn't seem to like Repunzel very much.

After that he left with a wide smile.

'That store keeper is extremely kind. She let me have all the books for free.' Xander smiled, but then he frowned. 'There was that person wearing a black cloak with a hood that glanced at me every now and then though, how weird.'

Xander didn't ponder over weird issues like that and went to the castle to give Martha the books.

The next day Xander was still at the castle. He went outside to see General Dreg training the knights and he joined them.

Each of them performed what they have learnt, they tested their speed with their weapon, their strength, and their Agility.

"I want to take a test too." As those words left Xander's mouth General Dreg looked back at him with wide eyes.

Xander already walked forth and equipped his spear.

All the knights backed away.

Xander then began spinning his spear slowly, then he began going faster, making the dusty ground beneath the spear clear up due to the wind generated.

Xander then began moving, spinning his spear with one hand, then above his head, and and then to his side.

He performed a range of attack moves while still spinning the spear and all the knights were beyond impressed.

"I thought he was only skilled at magic."

"He indeed deserves to be king."

"I wonder how powerful his child would become."

"Damn, look at those spear skills."

"I want to be stronger than him."

"I want to be as skilled as him."

"I want to be faster than him."

All the knights were immediately motivated by Xander's display of spear arts and they immediately began to train harder.

When Xander got upstairs he saw Martha looking out of the window and when she saw him she immediately ran towards him and gave him a big hug.

"Brother Xan!"

"Hehehe, I don't like being called that but whatever. How are you doing?"

"Not fine, I want to learn how to fight like you. If I am strong, bad people would fear me." She said with seriousness making Xander chuckle.

"Alright follow me."

Xander took her downstairs to the knights training ground.

"General Dreg."

The General looked back to see Xander coming to him with the little girl. He nodded as he noticed that all the girls bruises and scars were gone.

"Yes."

Xander then gestured to Martha.

"Little Martha wishes to learn the way of the spear. I will be leaving her in your care."

General Dreg scratched the back of his head awkwardly as he said, "We don't normally train girls but I'll do it since you told me to."

Hearing General Dreg, Martha was happy and immediately hugged Xander tightly, making both he and the general smile.

...

It was finally night and Zander prepared to leave Arzon. He had already said his goodbyes to Rebecca and Martha.

He picked up Seraph that was at the backyard of the castle and then he made his way to the court yard.

Seeing General dreg walking around with a torch he called him.

"You called me sir."

"Yeah. Train Martha very well to the best of your capabilities. When she is old enough, give her this." Xander gave him the Bringer of death and General Dreg admired the short but tall axe blades at the top of the spear.

Before he could say anything else he didn't see Xander again in front of him and he sighed as he continued his activities.
