Chapter 1026 A small, inconspicuous shop (1)

Naturally, most people in the central continent were unaware of how difficult it was for cultivators from the 'Immortal Dimension' to descend to a mortal world. However, Shun Long was well aware of how high a price one needed to pay to do so.

It wasn't something that Earth Immortals or even true Immortal cultivators could possibly afford, let alone do so on a whim. After all, something like that didn't just require an enormous amount of resources, but also connections with numerous other powerhouses of the 'Immortal Dimension'.

It was one thing to simply send down a handful of Sovereign realm cultivators to a mortal world, but to send hundreds of them at the same time? ''Master, even a first-rate sect can't do something like this without bleeding a bit.''

Little Black's voice reverberated inside Shun Long's mind as the black dragon's eyes were now filled with unconcealed killing intent. The thick white fog inside the 'Stone of Time' seemed to tremble from the black dragon's aura as well, as the gigantic beast stood up and stretched its enormous body.

Of course, Shun Long had already come to a conclusion a while ago as well, and Little Black's assumption was no different from his own. After all, there were only 2 possible reasons why any major force from the 'Immortal Dimension' would suddenly send so many cultivators to a mortal world like this one. The first reason was, that either a rare treasure or something similar had suddenly appeared in the central continent... something valuable enough to attract the attention of countless true immortals. However, if a treasure like that had appeared in the central continent, wouldn't Shun Long or Little Black be aware of it already? Even if Shun Long was still in the 'City of Immortals' while that treasure appeared, he would have probably heard about it by now. What were the chances of people from the 'Immortal Dimension' catching wind of something like this before anyone else in the continent? Of course, although the chances of that were slim... they weren't zero!

The second reason however, which was the most likely one, was Shun Long himself; Shun Long knew that using his 'World Zero' to reverse the state of the world in the 'City of Immortals' wasn't something that could pass by completely unnoticed. At least not from the true experts of the Immortal Dimension and their extraordinary senses.

For a skill to affect an entire mortal world and even alter the immutable laws of that world was something bound to attract attention from all sides!

Shaking his head, Shun Long soon turned his attention to the 3-story building in front of him.

Although the matter of the cultivators from the 'Immortal Dimension' was serious, it wasn't as urgent as opening his alchemy shop and setting up base in Amber Dawn first.

Waving his hand, Shun Long took out a token he had received from the city guard after purchasing the lot and infused his qi into it. Then, the numerous restrictions around the wooden building vanished as if they had never even existed, opening up a path to the entrance of the wooden building.

''Ohh? This place is much more spacious than it looks from the outside!'' Fu Li exclaimed loudly, his voice full of surprise, as his small, beady eyes examined the interior of the first floor.

Shun Long nodded in agreement as he focused on the condition of the floor instead of the size, before he took a look at the numerous protective formations engraved on the walls around him. Although these formations were barely discernible by the naked eye and their functions were mainly suppressed right now, anyone with some basic knowledge in formations would be able to tell a few things about them.

With just a glance, Shun Long could tell that this first floor was equipped with some self-preserving formations that focused on keeping the place tidy and free of dust, with a few protective formations mixed in there as well. However, the protective formations weren't anything to write home about and could barely be considered as 'functional'.

Shun Long could tell that they would spring into life if any middle or late-stage Dao Kings suddenly attacked the place, but anyone stronger than that and they would surely crumble into pieces!

In fact, Shun Long guessed that these formations would struggle to block a strike from any decent peak-stage Dao King! It was clear that they were only there for show and wouldn't have much of a use in a city like Amber Dawn.

Still, Shun Long didn't mind and continued examining the rest of the place. Formations could be strengthened or replaced with enough materials and spirit stones. In the end, the layout of the shop was what was most important.

Just like it had been described in the jade slip, the shop had 2 doors on the first floor, one in the front and one in the back, with the latter leading to an empty courtyard at the back of the wooden building.

Although the courtyard was empty and relatively small in size, with barely enough room to accommodate a second building not even a third the size of the first one, the space was still there for the owner to use it.

As for the second and third floors of the shop, they weren't that different from the first one. Other than the wooden stairs replacing the door as an entrance and the presence of a few private rooms, everything else was pretty much identical.

An hour later, after checking that everything was in place, Shun Long smiled and rubbed his face as he removed his disguise, erasing the visage of the old man he had taken and revealing his handsome face once more.

Looking at Jiang Chen and the others who still looked like middle-aged men and women, he nodded his head and said calmly

''Let's set up the shop first. We can pay a visit to the assassin guilds tomorrow.''
