Chapter 93 Shopping at the 7th Floor (1)
Immediately after Kent and the ladies appeared on the 7th floor, many stores greeted them, each selling various items. Strangely, only a few people could be seen moving from store to store, browsing through the mouth-watering goods.
Because of this, Kent's group immediately attracted some attention. That was especially true for Saintess Selene, whom people immediately started to recognize.
But Kent ignored them all and turned to the ladies.
"Unity, since you picked the bow, you'll need to find one you want to wield along with some skills you want for now. Don't worry. Because of your unique situation, we can stop at two skills.
Don't worry, I'll make sure nobody cheats you."
Kent turned to Lilian. "I know you can cast up to a Tier 3 spell circle, so aim for at least three since, for now, your unique situation won't help you much in that regard. You can pick two for each element.
Also, you can go for a good wand if you want."
He then turned back to his Master. Saintess Selene was looking at him strangely. For some reason, she felt like spending Kent's money as if it were her own. But a part keeps telling her not to fall for it.
"As for you, Master, you can pick any number of sword skills you want and any armor if you want. I'll do well to spend on you. Call it an investment for the future."
"An investment for the future?" Saintess Selene squinted her eyes at him.
"Don't worry about it. You'll understand soon enough," Kent said, giving her a wink before gesturing for them to head toward a store inside the bazaar that seemed to sell only skill books.
Saintess Selene calmed herself by convincing herself this was good.
'He is my disciple, and it's only natural for me to spend his money. And since he is offering, I might as well accept the offer. The more skills I have, the higher my chances of protecting him,' she reasoned.
After settling her thoughts, she followed the Dragon and his women as they made their way to the Happy Day Skill Books Store.
"Welcome to Happy Day Skill Books Store. How may I help these esteemed customers?" the store attendant greeted them warmly.
"We are looking to buy some spells and techniques. I hope you don't mind if we browse around," Kent replied, and the attendant gestured for them to enter.
Many skill books were neatly placed in cases around the shelves to preserve their quality. To many, these books were treasures worth going to hell and back for.
The reason was simple. Legendary-grade skills are at the top of the food chain.
Take Lilian, for example. She is a mage who specializes in Ice and Water spells. She could cast spells up to three spell circles. These circles determined one's proficiency in the craft.
If she managed to cast a Legendary-grade spell using all three spell circles, then, despite being just a Root Grandmaster, she would be able to fight a Peak Root Saint regardless of the situation.
In this world, Legendary-grade skills sat at the pinnacle. They represented the limit one could obtain. Of course, rumors persisted that royal families held Mystical-grade skills, but for now, the furthest the rich and powerful could aspire to was Legendary.
If someone like Lilian were to invoke a Legendary-grade spell with her Tier 3 spell circles, the chances of her going toe-to-toe with a Peak Root Saint were over 70%.
This meant that if Kent was generous enough to give them the chance to wield Legendary-grade spells and techniques, their destinies were on the cusp of a monumental shift.
Even Saintess Selene couldn't deny the allure of acquiring two or three Legendary-grade sword skills. The highest skill she currently possessed was Heaven-grade, which shaped her into who she is today.
She deeply desired a Legendary-grade sword skill, so she unknowingly fell into Kent's first trap. Soon, she would learn that these Legendary-grade techniques were only a ploy from her cunning disciple in other to get into her pants.
"I won't want to waste your time, sir, so why don't you bring us to the section where the Legendary-grade items are?" Kent said, looking around. All the skills there were Heaven-grade skills.
Of course, no sane person would hang dozens of Legendary-grade skills loose for just anyone to see.
The attendant looked at Kent briefly before shifting to Saintess Selene. Seeing she was with him, he gestured for them to follow. Soon, they entered a new room where 24 skills could be seen in jade cases.
"These are currently the only Legendary-grade skill books we have. I hope you find what you want since Legendary-grade skills are particularly rare," the attendant said before making way for them to look around.
"Ladies, look around," Kent said, making way for Lilian, Unity, and Saintess Selene to walk toward the jade cases to examine.
'Tower, look through all the skills and find something I might want to have in my arsenal. Soul-type skills will be best.'
[Way ahead of you, Master.]
Kent, at the moment, doesn't have to worry about sword-type skills. He already had the [Annihilation Sword Art], [Nine Calamities Sword Strike], [72 String Sovereign Strike], and the [Elemental Lord] skill.
He didn't need any sword skills at the moment. However, since he has now started as a Soul Master, he could at least look for something to focus on using his soul strength.
Twenty minutes later, Unity walked forward with two jade cases. Lilian came with one, and Saintess Selene also brought one.
Kent didn't comment on their choices since he knew they had already consulted their big sister, who was far more knowledgeable than him.
She was a goddess, after all.
"What about you, Unity? Which ones did you pick?" Kent asked. Lilian had two skill books that used the bow and the lightning element.
Unity held up the two jade cases and smiled. "The first one is [Thunder God's Precision]. It's a bow skill that uses lightning to enhance speed and accuracy making every lightning arrow many times deadly."
She placed it down gently before lifting the second case. "And this one is [Heaven's Arrowstorm]. It lets me shoot thousands of energy arrows at once. Perfect for crowd control."
She looked at Kent with a hint of pride. "I think these will suit me well."
"It seems you love them. So you can have both," Kent said, and the store attendant raised an eyebrow.
'Who is this young man?' he thought inwardly.
"What about you, Lilian? What spell did you pick?" Kent asked, turning his attention to her.
Lilian held up the jade case and smiled. "I chose 'Frostfire Twin Dragons.' It lets me summon an ice dragon and a fire dragon at the same time."
She glanced at the jade case, her excitement showing. "The two dragons can combine their powers for stronger attacks or fight separately to handle different enemies. I think it suits my style perfectly."
"Two in one, huh? Not bad," Kent said with a nod, then turned to Saintess Selene.
"What about you, Master? What sword skill did you get?" he asked, his tone curious.
Saintess Selene held up her jade case with a cute smile. "Celestial Blade Dance. It's a skill that allows me to summon dozens of ethereal swords to attack and defend simultaneously."
"The skill also enhances my sword intent, making each strike faster and sharper. I think this one is enough." One could see she was very happy with the skill in hand.
"We will take these four skills," Kent turns to the store owner.
[Master, I think your Master wants another skill, but she doesn't want to bankrupt you]
The tower suddenly prompted him.
