Meanwhile, at the Adventurers’ Guild… The atmosphere inside was unusually grim, punctuated only by the occasional hushed whispers. Strangely, only the native NPCs seemed to be talking. The players, on the other hand, remained eerily silent.

At the head of the round table, Taurus sat in brooding silence, his expression dark and foreboding.

With their leader in such a foul mood, none of his subordinates dared to speak, each one wary of becoming a target for his simmering frustrations. Taurus’ foul mood could be traced to one person—Yaeger.

He had been on the verge of acquiring Epic Equipment, even going so far as to offend rival guilds for the chance, only for it all to end in failure.

Still, it was impressive in its own way—turning an opportunity like that into a total loss.

To make matters worse, most of the ranking rewards had gone to none other than the Black-hearted Princess—a fact Taurus found utterly intolerable.

‘She must have cheated!’ he thought bitterly. At least, that’s what Taurus had initially believed—until he saw the comments under the trending post.

One comment in particular, an analysis by the player [George Tank], caught his attention. The explanation was so detailed and logical that Taurus couldn’t refute it. And that was exactly what infuriated him the most.

It felt as though he had been publicly humiliated, yet he was powerless to retaliate. In truth, the mere fact that she had snatched his opportunity was humiliation enough. He had been just one step away from securing Epic Equipment, only to lose everything at the last moment.

‘I hate this so much!’ he seethed internally. Taurus clenched his fists and ground his teeth, his eyes wide and bulging as veins throbbed across his forehead. It felt as though his rage could erupt at any second.

Meanwhile, S.K.Y. sat opposite him, his face unreadable as he fought to suppress the urge to laugh.

‘If only you had listened to me and killed the [Giant Scorching Ape] right away, we wouldn’t be in this mess,’ Letting out a mental sigh, S.K.Y. glanced at the regional system announcement on his interface.

‘What’s the deal with this lucky lottery ticket? It almost seems more valuable than an Epic Crate,’ he mused.

Displayed on the screen were Yaeger’s newly earned rewards. Curiosity getting the better of him, S.K.Y. tapped on the lucky lottery ticket to view its details.

“What the… what is this?” he blurted out after reading the item description. His outburst drew the attention of everyone in the Guild.

Taurus squinted at him, his anger teetering on the edge of explosion.

Frustrated and desperate for an outlet, Taurus saw S.K.Y.’s exclamation as the perfect excuse. ‘Don’t blame me for what happens next,’ he thought darkly.

At that moment, Taurus seemed to channel the collective fury of all his ancestors, preparing to unleash a verbal tirade of epic proportions. But S.K.Y. was quicker. Slamming the table, he shouted, “Young Master Zhang! This is incredible!” ?À?????

The sudden exclamation not only cut Taurus off mid-thought but also left him momentarily stunned.

“Why are you yelling so loudly?” Taurus barked after recovering, slamming the table in irritation.

“Apologies, Young Master Zhang! I didn’t mean to startle you. But you’ll understand why I’m so excited once you see this,” S.K.Y. explained hurriedly.

With a few quick taps, S.K.Y. flipped his game interface around for Taurus to see. Leaning in, Taurus immediately locked onto the item description displayed on the screen.

Ultra Rare Item: Lucky Lottery Ticket Number of Uses Description Special Effects
1
This is an incredibly rare lottery ticket. There is a certain chance to draw an Artifact.
Special effects will be applied when in use.

The description was concise, the kind that could be absorbed with just a quick glance. For Taurus, however, it felt as though he had been staring at it for an eternity, each word echoing endlessly in his mind. He simply couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

“Young Master Zhang, this is leagues above any Epic Equipment!” S.K.Y. exclaimed with enthusiasm.

Although S.K.Y. didn’t know the exact odds of drawing an Artifact, he was certain that even the lower-tier rewards would be immensely valuable. He suspected that the lowest-tier prize was likely Epic-ranked at the very least.

In fact, S.K.Y.’s guess was spot on—Epic Equipment was indeed the lowest-tier reward from the [Great Destiny Roulette]. And even then, only those with truly dreadful luck would draw those.

“A-An Artifact…” Taurus stammered, his vacant stare reflecting utter disbelief. He never would have imagined that defeating a minor boss could yield such an incredibly valuable item.

At the same time, his hatred for Yaeger grew even more intense.

“Black-hearted Princess, I’ll never forgive you!” he snarled.

Noticing that Taurus was about to slam the table into splinters, S.K.Y. quickly intervened. “Young Master Zhang, you can’t destroy property belonging to the Adventurers’ Guild!” S.K.Y. warned urgently.

Losing some money was one thing, but losing significant Favorability with the guild was another matter entirely. If the Adventurers’ Guild banned them from gathering there, they’d be forced to convene out in the open squares alongside other players—a humiliating prospect.

It would be a blow to their reputation.

“That’s true,” Taurus admitted, flicking S.K.Y.’s hand aside as he slowly sat back down, his anger still simmering.

‘They’re mine. Both the Epic Crate and the Lucky Lottery Ticket—they’re all mine!’ Taurus fumed inwardly.

“Why waste your energy being angry, Young Master Zhang? Won’t those items be ours soon enough anyway?” S.K.Y. said with a sly grin.

Taurus blinked, realization dawning. ‘That’s right. As long as we take down the Black-hearted Princess, all those things will be mine.’

“Hehehe, then let her hold onto them for just a few more days,” Taurus chuckled darkly.

S.K.Y. was about to reply, but the sound of a commotion outside caught his attention. Turning toward the source of the noise, they saw a woman perched atop a man. To be more precise, the man was crawling on all fours like a dog, with the woman sitting smugly on his back.

It was, unmistakably, a human mount.

The man, clearly powerful, still appeared tall and imposing even while crawling on the ground. Surprisingly, there was no trace of humiliation on his face—only an unnatural blush that hinted at something bizarre.

The woman appeared to be in her twenties, with a tall, elegant figure, flowing long hair, and a strikingly beautiful face.

The sight of the man crawling inside like a dog left everyone stunned, their hearts trembling with disbelief. A robust and seemingly capable man, choosing to degrade himself in such a manner—it was shocking, to say the least.

What was even more astonishing was the lack of shame on his face, which instead radiated an unsettling pleasure.

“Vanessa!” Taurus and S.K.Y. exclaimed in unison, immediately recognizing the woman riding on the man’s back as their former companion from the [Death of Love] guild.

She was none other than Vanessa Yang, the diva of the [Death of Love]. She was also the Guild Master of [Death of Flower].

“Young Master Zhang, S.K.Y., it’s been a while,” Vanessa said with a faint smile upon seeing them. Vanessa gracefully dismounted her human mount, her long legs extending elegantly as she walked toward them.

The man behind her stayed on his knees, unmoving. Maintaining his subservient posture, he trailed obediently behind Vanessa. It was as if he had shed all humanity and become nothing more than a massive, obedient dog.

Keen-eyed players quickly noticed that the man was no NPC—he was another player. His in-game name? [Queen’s Mount]. The moment his name was noticed, many players felt their eyelids twitch in shared disgust.

To them, he was an undeniable disgrace to all men.

“Vanessa, have you taken care of your family matters?” Taurus asked softly.

At one point, Taurus had been deeply in love with the woman standing before him. Unfortunately, Vanessa was the embodiment of extreme feminism and seemed wholly unsuited for romance.

Unless, of course, he was willing to degrade himself like [Queen’s Mount] and become her loyal "dog." Even then, there was no guarantee that Vanessa would reciprocate his feelings.

After all, the Yang family was deeply entrenched in extreme feminist ideology, where men wielded almost no authority. Having grown up watching her father humbly wash her mother’s feet every night, Vanessa had developed a profound disdain for men.

“It’s finally taken care of,” Vanessa said calmly as she sat down with effortless grace.

“Vanessa, you’ll be online for the next two days, won’t you?” Taurus asked, sitting up straighter.

Though Taurus rarely concerned himself with formalities, he instinctively adopted a more refined demeanor around Vanessa, a lingering remnant of his past affection for her.

“Yes. I’ve finished handling my family’s matters, so I have plenty of free time now,” Vanessa replied. “Now that I think about it, you specifically mentioned these two days. Could it be…”

Vanessa’s sharp gaze shifted between S.K.Y. and Taurus as she trailed off.

“Exactly. In two days, the Black-hearted Princess will be taken down for sure!” Taurus declared confidently.

“Indeed,” S.K.Y. agreed with a firm nod.

S.K.Y., who harbored no romantic or impure feelings for Vanessa, maintained his usual assertiveness in their interactions.

“Heh, what perfect timing,” Vanessa said with a sly smile.

“That’s right. I was planning to inform you the day before the operation began,” Taurus replied.

“Thank you, Young Master Zhang,” Vanessa said with a nod before swiftly shifting the conversation. “I’m not interested in anything else, but I want her Epic crossbow. No matter what.”

“Of course. Out of the three of us, only you are a Ranger,” Taurus said nonchalantly.

This had already been agreed upon beforehand, and Taurus had no intention of revisiting the arrangement.

“Very good,” Vanessa said, her smile suddenly radiant. It was a smile that momentarily left Taurus dazed.

S.K.Y. frowned in silence, his thoughts echoing, ‘What a simp.’

It was painfully obvious to S.K.Y. that Taurus treated him and Vanessa very differently. One was his cherished childhood crush. The other? Just an underling. It was natural for Taurus to treat them differently, and S.K.Y. understood that. Yet, it didn’t stop him from feeling deeply annoyed.

“By the way, why is the city so tense?” Vanessa asked casually.

“It’s all because of that succubus…” Taurus said before giving her a brief explanation of the recent events.

“This Black-hearted Princess sounds intriguing. Once you grind her down to zero levels, leave her to me,” She spoke with a tone of indifference, her face propped lazily on one hand.

S.K.Y.’s frown deepened, frustration simmering beneath the surface. This woman hadn’t contributed a thing. Yet not only did she demand the loot, but now she also wanted the Black-hearted Princess for herself. It was outrageous.

‘Do you think the [Death of Love] Guild belongs to you?’ S.K.Y. thought bitterly.

“No,” Taurus said firmly, surprising everyone.

Vanessa frowned and grumbled in dissatisfaction. “You’re already taking most of the loot for yourself, and yet you’re still not satisfied?”

Taurus shook his head. “That’s not what I mean. The Black-hearted Princess has humiliated me time and time again. If I don’t punish her harshly, I’ll never get closure.”

“Then what do you intend to do?” Vanessa asked, her confusion evident.

“I plan to punish her in real life. Once I’m done, you’ll never see her in the game again,” Taurus said with a grim smirk.

“You…” Vanessa gasped, utterly shocked.

He was actually planning to harm the Black-hearted Princess in real life! As a staunch feminist, how could she possibly allow this to happen?

“Taurus Zhang! Do you even realize what you’ve just said? Your words fill me with rage, sending chills through my limbs despite this heat! Will society ever improve? What must we women do to finally satisfy people like you? My heart aches—why is this country so riddled with female oppression?”

As her impassioned speech rang out, both Taurus and S.K.Y. felt chills run down their spines.

‘Here it comes—the infamous feminist monologue,’ they both thought.

While Taurus and S.K.Y. were left floundering in the face of Vanessa’s tirade, Yaeger had already left the auction house.

“It’s getting late. Time to treat Allie,” She muttered while glancing up at the blazing sun overhead.
