Chapter 110 Underground Group
Chapter 110 Underground Group
"Attack?" asked Mona, shocked.
"If the Night Liberators are the main culprits in this incident, then it is obvious that Sara and Karen are being held as hostages," said Arthur.
Arthur turned aside, staring straight ahead at the road outside the forest. Since the map was in Sara's hands, Arthur and Mona had to find a way to locate the Night Liberators' base immediately.
'I was reluctant to do this, but they really gave me no choice," Arthur said.
Yesterday, Arthur killed many Night Liberator members at the former Sky Sword base, draining a lot of his MP, as well as his energy. Now, they were interfering in Arthur's matters again, leaving Arthur no choice but to visit them.
Mona wasn't crying; she worried more about Sara and Karen's condition. Arthur realized Mona's anxiety. He wrapped his arms around Mona's waist, then took her flying again across the forest sky.
"If we're lucky, we might encounter a group of Night Liberators attacking our cabin," Arthur replied, staring ahead while keeping his flight speed from getting overly fast —so Mona could adapt.
The woman nodded. If they met the kidnappers, it would be much better than attacking their base directly. Arthur and Mona continued to scan the surrounding area, looking for Sara and Karen.
Just as they were searching for Sara and Karen, Mona was startled by a strange group moving from the forest ahead of them. Mona pointed ahead, Arthur instantly focused.
It wasn't the Night Liberators but another small group living on the 11th floor. Arthur was curious, if the Night Liberators could defeat the Sky Sword, why couldn't they defeat a small group like them?
With a downward swoop, Arthur and Mona's presence certainly surprised the group. They ran backwards to avoid those two people; they needed to report this to their group leader.
Of the three people, one man was left lying on his back on the ground. His face paled as Arthur's legs held his body from leaving; Arthur's right hand was also ready with purple light.
A middle-aged man walked over and drew his bow and arrow aimed at Arthur. The other group of men stood ready with their talents, threatening Mona.
"Let him go!" ordered the middle-aged man.
"I'll let him go unless you tell me, who are you? Why are the Night Liberators not destroying you?" asked Arthur.
"We can't tell you that. Our group is a kind of resistance group," explained the middle-aged man, making Arthur even more suspicious.
"If you don't tell me, I'll blast his head off!" threatened Arthur, strengthening the power of the purple light in his right hand while the middle-aged man pulled hard on the bow and arrow.
"Don't tell him! I can take this," explained the man lying at Arthur's feet.
"No, He won't," Mona said.
"Of course, he won't."
"Alright, but I need to make sure you're not part of the alliance formed by the Night Liberators, right?" asked the middle-aged man.
'Alliance? I didn't even know they had an alliance,' Arthur replied.
Arthur shook his head. He said he and Mona were Sky Sword members from the tenth floor. They were originally going to spend the night at Sky Sword base temporarily, but they were surprised to realize Sky Sword had been ruined.
"No, they're not. They're still here," replied the middle-aged man.
"What do you mean?" asked Arthur.
Without thinking, the middle-aged man took Arthur and Mona into the forest. They entered a stone cave and climbed down the steps.
There was a large underground room with people sitting on chairs as if they were holding an important meeting.
"You brought a murderer here. Are you out of your mind, Jacob?" asked a man dressed in a gold and white uniform.
Arthur squinted, seeing faces and groups that were unfamiliar to him. Arthur focused his attention on a woman with shoulder-length blonde hair and sitting with her legs crossed. What caught Arthur's attention was not her beauty but her uniform.
"Sky Sword," Arthur said, making the woman come to her senses and look at Arthur.
"What's wrong with my group?" she asked, annoyed.
Jacob explained that Arthur and Mona were from the 10th floor of Sky Sword; he was from the 13th squad.
Hearing the name 13th Squad made the Sky Sword woman laugh out loud. She had never heard that the weakest squad could go up a floor.
The woman was Stacy, 26 years old and had bad memories with the Night Liberators. She stepped forward in front of Arthur and surprisingly grabbed him by the collar, making Mona gasp.
"Listen to me, boy, if you want to get my attention, you're gonna have to do better than making up something stupid!" Stacy snapped.
"I'm not making it up. I'm from the 13th squad," Arthur replied, letting go of Stacy's hand while emitting a purple aura that surprised many people.
"That aura, there's no mistaking it, is the purple magic I saw in Tenth Floor City during the battle against the Dark Legion," said one of the men.
"Him? Did you just say he killed Bright?!" asked Stacy, laughing contemptuously.
Arthur sighed, there was no point in him staying in that shitty room. He pushed Stacy's body away from him. He and Mona said goodbye to Jacob as he had to save his friend.
"I have to go save my friend," Arthur said.
"The Night Liberators arrested them. I have to go to their base."
Jacob and the others gasped at Arthur's words. They never expected a member of the 13th Squad to challenge Darius alone, which is such an illogical statement.
Stacy didn't care. She sat back in her chair and invited Arthur to leave. She said no one could defeat Darius at the moment. Continue reading at empire
"He, for some reason, got a special artifact that increased his strength dramatically. His face and body changed," Stacy replied.
'Does it make him so strong that none of these people dare to challenge him?" Arthur asked.
"To be sure, his element is unique compared to the rest of us. Your element almost looks similar to Darius'," Stacy replied, staring intently at Arthur.
"In fact, when you brought it out, I almost reflexively slashed your head with my sword because of the similarity in the color of your magic."
"Is it possible that his element is darkness?" asked Arthur, confirming.
"That's right. His element is darkness."
