Ruler's Awakening: Inheritor of the SSS-Rank Dimensional Talent

Chapter 94 Sky Sword's Discrimination

Chapter 94 Sky Sword's Discrimination

"What?!" startled Harold.

Not only him but many people from other squads showed the same expression. They thought the 13th squad was the weakest and most useless squad in the group, and their abilities weren't enough to participate in the monster raid.

The only high quest the 13th Squad could participate in was monster clearing through guild quests, and even then, they only took B-rank quests. They spent more time with patrol duties and community service.

Now, for no apparent reason, Andrew assigned the 13th squad to carry out their first raid task. Many other members laughed out loud, scoffing at Andrew's decision and saying that the 13th Squad would die before fighting their first monster.

Sara was aware of the abilities of her group members. Arthur saw her glum face; he couldn't let the other members disrespect his current squad.

"That's enough. Let the 13th squad show their abilities. I'm sure Sara and her members can handle the monster raid tomorrow," Andrew said, stepping up and glancing briefly at Arthur, grinning.

Now, Harold was in command of the place. Andrew's decision was final, and Harold couldn't argue with it.

His current duties were to maintain order during the monster raid, assist in the evacuation of other adventurers, and guard the city.

Arthur stood in the back row of the 13th squad. Several other members watched him, then shook their heads with a sigh, feeling sorry for Arthur's fate.

"Hey, Arthur. Try to survive there; maybe you can be transferred to another squad," said one of the members of the 14th squad.

The young man cleared his throat in response. He would indeed survive, but not to be transferred to another squad, but rather to climb the floor.

Harold explained that the teams assisting the 13th squad were the 21st and 7th squads. The two squads were arguably the strongest squads after the main raid team, it was to minimize the casualties of the 13th squad.

"Although I hope no one dies, since the 13th squad is the leader of the floor boss raid, I have my doubts about that," Harold explained, openly and clearly denigrating the ability of the 13th squad.

Even so, Arthur saw the members of the 13th squad looking resigned and accepting the scorn as if it was something they were used to during their time at Sky Sword.

'They didn't argue or fight back. They really accepted their fate of being humiliated,' Arthur explained.

After half an hour of speaking to the Sky Sword members, Harold ordered everyone to return to their dormitories to prepare.

He also asked Sara to always coordinate with him, considering this was the first time the 13th squad had participated in a raid, let alone directly challenging a floor boss.

Sara understood Harold's words. One by one, the members of the other squads left the place, leaving the 13th squad still remaining in the field in front of the HQ.

"W-Will we manage to conquer the floor boss?" asked a girl, a year older than Arthur, with a shy attitude. She was Hana.

"Calm down. It'll probably be easy. After all, the 21st and 7th squad will help us," said a man, 23 years old, with his eccentric appearance. He was Nolan.

"We won't be able to defeat the floor boss. That's what you should know," explained another man, 20 years old, with a flat and indifferent facial expression. He was Morgan.

A woman chose to leave with her sword, uncaring of the talk in the squad. Arthur recognized her as Karen.

"We have a new member here. Maybe he can help us a lot, right?" asked a girl, 19 years old, with two big boobs. She was Mona.

Sara stood among her group members, trying to calm those who felt resigned, desperate, and saddened by the decision. She clarified that this task was a precious opportunity for the 13th Squad.

"If we defeat the floor boss, we might get promoted to the main raid team," Sara explained.

"What do you think, Arthur?" asked Sara.

Now, all the attention of the 13th squad members was directed at Arthur. The young man who had just joined Sky Sword seemed to smile slightly, then said his opinion honestly.

"If Andrew says so, shouldn't we follow his orders?" Arthur asked.

"Oh, so you're a typical sycophant, huh?" insulted Morgan, making Arthur squint and ask what Morgan meant.

Sara broke them up by saying it was the duty of the 13th squad assigned to carry out the monster raid. She asked the others to prepare themselves immediately because there were many things to prepare before the raid opened tomorrow.

They obeyed Sara's orders. One after another, they returned to the dorm together. Sara stepped closer to Arthur, then smiled broadly when the two exchanged glances for a moment.

"What makes you special in Andrew's eyes?" asked Sara, surprising Arthur.

"Wh-What do you mean?" asked Arthur, awkwardly.

"I've never seen Andrew directly choose a squad for a new member. You must have a good relationship with him, right?"

'Damn! She has a sharp mind. I have to be careful with her,' Arthur explained.

"I don't know. Maybe because he saw my fight against the Dark Legion."

Sara narrowed her eyes as if trying to analyze what Arthur was thinking. In the end, Sara sighed and ended their conversation. The woman invited Arthur to go for a walk.

Just as they were about to walk around, Arthur said he wasn't in the mood. He would rather go to the dorm, settle in, and rest until tomorrow.

"Is that so? Alright. We'll go straight to the dorms."

Sara shifted from the Sky Sword HQ to the 13th squad dorm. It was located at the back of the main HQ, separate from the dorms of the other squads. Arthur initially did not understand Sara's explanation.

However, when he arrived at the dorm, Arthur could only respond by shaking his head. Sky Sword's form of discrimination against the 13th squad was terrible.

He saw the 13th squad dorm shabby, dirty, with faded wall paint and broken roof tiles. It starkly contrasted to the other squad dorms, which were well-maintained and beautiful.

'They really treated the 13th squad like trash.'

"I'm sorry if the conditions are not to your liking. We've tried asking Andrew to fix this, but there's been no response."

The door to one of the empty rooms in dorm 13 opened. Arthur could only smile bitterly at the conditions full of dust, deflated foam mattresses, old furniture, broken glass windows, and animal feces.

"I can't stay here. It's disgusting!" complained Arthur.

"This is all we've got; perhaps you'd like to swap rooms with me for the night? I wouldn't mind staying here overnight," suggested Sara.

'She's too nice, seriously.'

"Are the conditions similar to the other members?" asked Arthur about the condition of all the rooms in Dorm 13.

"Yes, although they're quite clean because they've been cleaned from the first."

Arthur nodded. Tomorrow was a big day for him, and the 13th squad, and the bad condition of the rooms and dorms would disrupt their rest. Having no other choice, Arthur proposed something to them.

"Tell everyone. We'll stay at the city inn tonight," Arthur explained.

"City inn? But a room costs about 10,000 RL. I'm afraid they'll—"

"I'll take care of the costs. You all need a good rest. I don't want all of you to burden me later."
