Chapter 177 Competition
Chapter 177 Competition
Brother Chen was in agony, almost collapsing completely.
"Xiao Han?!" Liu Xiaolei gasped in surprise; she hurriedly got up and hugged Xiao Han, chokingly said, "You... you finally came. If you hadn't come, I... I would have been violated by this beast."
"I'm sorry, I'm late." Xiao Han quickly embraced Liu Xiaolei.
"Waah..." Liu Xiaolei's unsettled emotions instantly spiraled out of control, her feelings of grievances bursting forth like a flood. She clung to Xiao Han and sobbed heavily.
"Kid, who are you, and how did you barge into the detention room? Don't you want to live?" shouted two men at the door urgently.
At that moment, Brother Chen climbed up from the ground and then glared fiercely at Xiao Han, coldly asked, "Who... who the hell are you!"
Blood streamed from the man's mouth; having been kicked in the chest, it was highly likely that his ribs were fractured. Clenching his teeth, he glared at Xiao Han and said, "Who the hell are you, daring to barge into a police station; do you want to die?"
"A police officer, and you dare to humiliate a girl like this?" Xiao Han narrowed his eyes.
"Fuck, do I need you to butt in on what I do?" the man glared back at Xiao Han.
"I may not control you, but the law certainly can!" Xiao Han retorted with a cold laugh.
"Hahaha..." Upon hearing this, the man burst into laughter and said, "The law? You talk to me about the law in this place? Let me tell you, today neither of you will leave. Daring to raid a police station, you must be tired of living!"
Whoosh...
The two officers at the door quickly pulled out their pistols.
Xiao Han sneered and said, "You really are audacious, sustained by the taxpayer's money, yet you dare to use the authority granted to you against the taxpayers themselves. That's incredibly audacious!"
"Cut the crap!" the man roared furiously.
Xiao Han's lips curled up in a sinister smile, then he sneered and said, "It seems, you're really up to no good."
"Kid, let me tell you, even if you die here today, no one will know!" Brother Chen chuckled coldly, a murderous look flashing in his eyes.
Not only had Xiao Han spoiled his plans, but he had also humiliated him in front of his subordinates; it was an insult to his dignity and a trampling of his character, something he could not tolerate, so he had already harbored a murderous intent, determined to kill Xiao Han.
Xiao Han's lips curled up in a smile and said, "Fine by me, I'd like to see what you can do!"
The three men immediately surrounded him, two holding guns, while Brother Chen pulled a switchblade from his pocket. Though they dared not recklessly use firearms, they were still brave enough to wield a knife. The two with guns were merely trying to intimidate Xiao Han.
Pity, their threats were doomed to fail. Brother Chen, gripping the switchblade and enduring severe pain, sought revenge for himself.
"Kill!" Brother Chen roared.
Brother Chen charged swiftly.
Xiao Han, calm and composed, his right arm around Liu Xiaolei and his left foot raised, kicked the man's wrist.
Crack...
A dislocating sound immediately caused the man to scream in agony.
"Ah!" Brother Chen cried out in pain.
Bang!
Before the man could react, Xiao Han's right leg delivered a fierce Whirlwind Kick to his chest. Brother Chen was sent flying once again. Two kicks to the same spot shattered his ribs on the spot, and he fell to his knees.
"Listen well, this is just a lesson for you," Xiao Han snorted coldly, "If there's a next time, I will not spare you. Skinning you alive would be the least I do; if I truly lay my hands on you, then it would be a serious matter."
Spurt...
The man knelt on the ground and instantly spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.
With that mouthful of blood, he fell heavily to the ground, his ribcage shattered and his wrist dislocated, hurting beyond limits, he soon passed out. The two men at his side quickly holstered their guns and hurried over, anxiously asking, "Brother Chen, are you alright? Are you okay?"
"Xiao Lei, let's go!" Xiao Han carried Liu Xiaolei.
Liu Xiaolei, terrified, was trembling all over and felt weak in the legs. Seeing this, Xiao Han simply picked her up and headed towards the exit. Nestled in Xiao Han's arms, Liu Xiaolei's tension considerably eased, she let out a heavy sigh, and her frightened emotions were soothed. Nestled in Xiao Han's embrace, she felt an immense relief.
She looked up at Xiao Han, his firm face appeared as if chiseled with sharp angles. His deep-set eyes gazed into the distance.
This man, despite being several years younger than herself, exuded a strong masculine scent. Liu Xiaolei found herself surprisingly attracted to his scent. At that moment, she suddenly recalled the last time at the doorstep of Xiao Han's house when he had touched her inappropriately, causing her face to flush.
"Xiao Lei, why is your face red?" Xiao Han curiously asked.
"I... I didn't!" Liu Xiaolei hurriedly covered her chest. Her clothes, torn by that beast, no longer shielded her proud figure, so she could only use her hands to cover up.
Who would have expected Xiao Han to burst into laughter, "I've seen your body before, what are you still hiding?"
"You! You're spouting nonsense!" Liu Xiaolei retorted angrily, thinking Xiao Han was referring to the time he teased her, when her clothes had been undone, exposing much of her chest. Liu Xiaolei's face reddened even more.
"When you were a kid, bathing and squatting to pee, I've seen it all!" Xiao Han chuckled.
"You!" Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaolei almost burst into laughter, she glanced at Xiao Han, rolled her eyes at him, and then huffed, "Go on, can childhood matters even count? When I was a kid, I even flicked your ***!"
"Uh..." Xiao Han was stunned, and asked in confusion, "When did that happen? I don't recall it."
"Hehe, of course you don't know!" Liu Xiaolei giggled, her hands wrapped around Xiao Han's neck, her head buried in his chest.
Xiao Han hugged her and took a cab, then headed straight back to Fuxing Community.
Liu Xiaolei changed her clothes after getting home. Grandma Liu was in the hospital, Old Liu was accompanying her at the hospital, Liu Dajun had found a job at a construction site, and Xiao Jun had returned to work in the coastal city, sending money home every month.
With Liu Dajun and Liu Xiaolei taking care of everything at home, Xiao Jun also planned to give up his business in the coastal city and return home to accompany his parents, but Old Liu scolded him into going back. Xiao Jun's business was all set up in the coastal city, and returning would mean giving up everything and starting over, which Old Liu was naturally not willing to accept.
Having no choice, Xiao Jun had to go back to the coastal city with his wife, sending filial money home every month.
Liu Xiaolei bumped her head against the wall, now swelling up with a large bump, and a palm print was also visible on her right cheek.
"Does it hurt?" Xiao Han asked, looking particularly heartbroken.
"Mhm!" Liu Xiaolei nodded, saying, "But this injury is nothing. It's much better than being violated by that animal. I'd rather endure this pain tenfold, a hundredfold, than be violated by him."
"Don't worry," Xiao Han nodded, "I'm here, I will protect you!"
"By the way, how's Hanmen Catering doing?" Liu Xiaolei suddenly came back to her senses.
"Don't worry, it's fine now," Xiao Han smiled and then said, "It was all a set-up by No. 7 Restaurant's owner, they deliberately came to harm us because we took their business. They plotted this to defame us."
"It was them?!" Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaolei instantly understood, she sneered, "They really are desperate."
"Be more careful in the future!" Xiao Han replied.
"I know," Liu Xiaolei touched her hot cheek.
"Xiao Lei, just rest well for the next few days, don't go to work," Xiao Han instructed.
"That can't happen!" Liu Xiaolei quickly shook her head, "You're not the boss, you don't make the rules. I need to report back to Hanmen Catering immediately; otherwise, a docked salary is the least of my worries, if they fire me, where would I go to cry?"
Liu Xiaolei cared deeply about her current job, so she seemed especially eager to preserve it. She didn't want to lose this employment. Upon finishing, Liu Xiaolei hurried towards Hanmen Catering. Watching Liu Xiaolei's departing figure, Xiao Han appeared somewhat heartbroken.
After thinking it over, Xiao Han called Yang Lu and instructed her on a few matters.
"Okay, I got it," Yang Lu nodded, "I'll talk to her when I see her."
"Sister Yang, thank you!" Xiao Han nodded.
"It's what I should do!" Yang Lu nodded.
Liu Xiaolei returned to the restaurant, where everything had returned to normal. However, there weren't many customers at the moment; just some casual patrons in the main hall, three private rooms open on the second floor, and one on the third floor. As the manager of Hanmen Catering, Liu Xiaolei must stay informed and attentive to everything happening inside. Enjoy new adventures from My Virtual Library Empire
"Director Yang, there weren't any problems, right?" Liu Xiaolei asked with concern.
"No issues!" Yang Lu shook her head, "Don't worry, I heard from Xiao Han that you got injured at the police station?"
"A bit, but it's nothing," Liu Xiaolei shook her head.
"Ah, I was careless," Yang Lu looked at Liu Xiaolei guiltily, "It only occurred to me later to have Xiao Han take twenty thousand yuan to the police station to offer as a bribe, thinking about it now, I almost made a big mistake. I'm relieved you're okay, otherwise, I would have felt guilty for a lifetime."
"Director Yang, you exaggerate," Liu Xiaolei smiled, "I'm fine, aren't I?"
"Rest well these days," Yang Lu instructed, "You don't need to worry about the restaurant, the company will give you a few days off, and your salary will be paid as usual."
"Really?" Upon hearing this, Liu Xiaolei was overjoyed.
Since the opening, she hadn't had a single day off. Normal rest days were canceled, simply because it had been too busy. Hanmen Catering was extremely popular almost every day, with hardly a moment to pause. Every staff member was holding their position steadfastly.
Moreover, Hanmen Restaurant offered triple overtime compensation, enticing many who had planned rest days to cancel them in favor of earning more.
