Chapter 69 - 64 Massacre

Chapter 69 - 64 Massacre

Chapter 69: Chapter 64 Massacre

Main city district exit.

The City State Guard and the Law Enforcement Team stood guard here, with many patrolling personnel within.

“Heard a lot of people died again?” the patrollers discussed.

“Yeah, the Council is holding an emergency meeting, and the results will be out soon. The thugs are getting too brazen.”

“Tch, never seen thugs this audacious in years, better not run into me,” one person cursed under his breath.

As he spoke, three figures came walking over from the opposite side.

All three were wearing hats and carrying backpacks behind them.

Heads down, faces unseen.

“Lift your heads,” said the muttering man as he stepped forward and barked, his tone extremely unfriendly, as if accustomed to it.

The three obediently raised their heads.

Seeing their faces, the patrol was stunned for a moment. The one in the middle was particularly striking, with a refined face that was very beautiful, recognizable at a glance.

Wanted criminals!

“Commander, what do you plan to do now that you’ve run into them?” The woman in the middle smiled brilliantly while she spoke, simultaneously lifting a gun.

“Pfft…”

Blood splattered, a shot to the head.

The others tried to run, but Xiao Qi directly fired and took care of them.

The guards at the door prepared for action upon seeing the situation, pulling out their guns.

Ye Qingdie didn’t run; she walked straight towards them.

She unbuckled her backpack, took out a Strong Firepower Cannon, and immediately opened fire at them.

“Bang…” The guards were blown away, and those lucky enough to survive felt blood splatter on their faces, terror washing over them.

Indeed, they had never seen such audacious wanted criminals.

Who exactly are the criminals here?

“Bang!”

No luck this time, those alive were equally blown away, with Shadow and Xiao Qi following suit and firing, quickly clearing the way.

“Is this the only resistance put up to die in vain?” Xiao Qi muttered, and the three walked out together, as if on a leisurely stroll.

After leaving, the three seemed reluctant to go, turning their heads back towards the main city district.

“Sister Butterfly, do you really have the heart to abandon Xu Mo like that?” Xiao Qi asked, looking at Ye Qingdie.

Ye Qingdie kicked him to the ground with a murderous look in her eyes.

“Sister Butterfly…” Xiao Qi was about to say something when Ye Qingdie kicked him again, without any courtesy.

Xiao Qi covered his head.

Ah, so Sister Butterfly still cares.

It’s understandable being in a bad mood.

But why is she taking it out on him???

Ye Qingdie turned and walked away, with Shadow following behind.

“If you’re not dead, keep up,” Ye Qingdie’s voice came.

Xiao Qi gloomily got up and followed.

“Sister Butterfly, where are we going?” Xiao Qi asked as he caught up.

“To the black market,” Ye Qingdie said quietly.

It wasn’t her choice to leave, but Xu Mo asked the three of them to leave first after he returned.

After weighing the options, Ye Qingdie agreed with Xu Mo’s suggestion.

Now that they were completely exposed, although the Underworld’s power was limited, the whole underground “machine” running would still pose a great risk.

With four people together, the target was bigger, hence Xu Mo had them leave first.

He would be more agile alone, and it would be more difficult to go after him.

To avoid being a burden, Ye Qingdie agreed to leave.

She had also considered asking Xu Mo to leave together.

But since Xu Mo had made up his mind, she didn’t persuade him.

They’d wait for him in the black market.

……

After Ye Qingdie and the others left, someone went to track them.

However, Xu Mo wasn’t worried, as the strength and equipment of Ye Qingdie and her companions were not easy to capture.

Having left the main city district, the area was too vast, and the difficulty of conducting a search increased.

Moreover, he was still here.

The City State Guard and the Law Enforcement Team began a citywide search, even more extensively than before.

Yet, the wanted criminals seemed to have vanished, leaving no trace.

The wanted criminals who escaped the main city district were only three, and the most important one didn’t leave.

Not just the criminals, even the Monster couldn’t be found.

On the rooftop of a building next to the golden streets of the main city district, Xu Mo crouched on the ground, assembling a weapon.

This was the most central area of the main city district, yet Xu Mo appeared so brazenly on the rooftop.

With his strong sensory abilities, as long as he wanted to hide, it was too difficult to search for him.

The Rocket Gun was fully assembled, set up at the edge of the rooftop.

Having done all this, he looked down towards the direction of the golden streets below.

With his powerful range of vision, he didn’t even need binoculars.

The golden streets, the heart of the main city district.

A few kilometers ahead, was the location of the Council.

However, there were no residential buildings around the Council, it was empty, and not suitable for ambushes.

To attack the Council, there was only one way, direct assault.

The risk was too great.

The Councilmen surely had Mechas and heavy weaponry.

“They’re here.”

Xu Mo looked towards the distance, three cars were approaching.

In the Underworld, vehicles were scarce, even in the main city district, and only a few people of influence had private vehicles.

Three cars, coming from the direction of the Council, no need to guess that they were big shots from the Council.

The middle car, with a shell like forged steel, was an armored vehicle.

Xu Mo waited quietly.

The vehicle gradually made its way toward the golden street, and the surrounding civilians all cleared the way.

Xu Mo hoisted the Rocket Gun.

“Boom.”

The tire of the middle vehicle burst into flames instantly.

The vehicle screeched alarmingly as it scraped the ground.

“Boom, boom…”

The strong gunfire continued, and the middle vehicle had stopped moving; the ones in the front and back were burning.

The street was in chaos, and the civilians scrambled to flee the scene; those who’d just gotten out of the vehicles were instantly blown away.

There was no movement from the middle car, and no one came out; it was safer inside.

A councilman sat behind the driver’s seat, cursing profusely.

Two guards beside him and in the passenger seat looked outside, assessing the situation.

They saw a figure slide down the wall from the rooftop, using the windows and the protruding walls to descend rapidly.

“He’s coming this way,” the guard officer beside him said.

This thug’s audaciousness had overturned his knowledge; to dare to openly assassinate a councilman on the golden street near the Council was insanity.

How arrogant could one be?

“I’ll check it out, Councilman, sir, please don’t get out of the car,” the man beside him said with a deep voice, an ace elite of the City State Guard.

Responsible for protecting the Councilman.

“Thanks,” the Councilman responded.

The ace elite of the City State Guard got out of the car, fully armed, watching Xu Mo who was sliding down from the nearby rooftop.

He raised his gun and fired at Xu Mo; a burst of blue-violet energy lightning shot out.

Xu Mo, who had turned around, deftly dodged; the lightning hit the wall and blasted right through it.

The firepower was extremely strong.

“Energy Gun,” Xu Mo focused on his opponent and dashed towards the street, drawing the War Saber from his back.

The opponent fired continuously, covering an area with energy lightning that formed into sweeping chains of lightning.

Xu Mo ran madly in one direction, approaching the enemy in a curved line.

Seeing Xu Mo draw near, the other man dropped his gun; energy lights flowed on his Battle Armor, with energy lightning seeming to travel along his body.

His Battle Armor was very strong.

Xu Mo reached him, and his pitch-black War Saber descended.

But the other man reached out with his left hand, grabbing at the War Saber in Xu Mo’s grip, his glove also flowing with powerful energy light.

Meanwhile, his right hand chopped at Xu Mo’s head, energy light coursing through it, making the punch extremely violent.

To Xu Mo, this man seemed much stronger than the City State Guard elites he had encountered before.

It appeared the Council had deployed even stronger members to protect the Councilman.

“Buzz!” A more powerful Energy Field formed around them, adhering to the War Saber and strengthening the black lightning flowing over it.

“Puchi…”

A crisp sound ensued as the War Saber sliced through the man’s hand and continued downward, beheading him as blood splattered.

The member of the City State Guard hadn’t expected…

That he would only merit a single strike!

Perhaps, he thought he was strong.

Xu Mo walked toward where the Councilman was.

Inside the vehicle, the Councilman’s face turned extremely unsightly, and he yelled at the driver, “Drive.”

Xu Mo had already arrived; his War Saber thrust directly at the passenger seat, piercing through steel and into the person’s head.

Without stopping, he leaped onto the roof, stabbed down through the driver’s spot, and then walked on top of the car toward where the Councilman’s head was.

The Councilman opened the car door; he had just witnessed two men being brutally killed inside the car.

Sitting in the car was a death sentence!

Xu Mo landed directly in front of him.

“Don’t kill me…” the Councilman fell to the ground and started crawling backwards.

“Puchi!”

The War Saber fell, and his head was cleanly severed.

Those ‘bigshots’ in the Council of the Underworld, they see one, they kill one, and not a single one is wrongly accused.

All of them, executioners.

Sounds came from the distance, and Xu Mo looked that way.

He saw cars and two Mecha speeding in this direction.

Xu Mo didn’t linger and ran towards his rear.

He wondered where he might be able to hijack a Mecha, which would make the killing more convenient, perhaps?

The patrol arrived, and seeing Xu Mo, they immediately stepped aside, letting Xu Mo leave from beside them.

Watching him leave, they felt sweat on their foreheads.

They had nearly lost their lives!!

Thank goodness they hadn’t rashly tried to stop him.

For them to deal with this wanted criminal, really, what was the difference between that and being sent to die?

To think someone would come straight for the kill of a Councilman?

Xu Mo ducked into an adjacent building; the incoming vehicles and Mechas couldn’t get in.

They flanked in different directions, trying to surround the building from another side.

But how could their speed match Xu Mo’s?

With his strong perception, the surrounding routes posed no obstacles, allowing him to weave through them at will.

Soon after, Xu Mo disappeared, and those coming to support were left grasping at air.

As for the patrolling interceptors, those who encountered Xu Mo hid.

Those who didn’t hide were dead!

The technological limitations of the Underworld now became a constraint.

Otherwise, tracking one person would not be so difficult.

A second Councilman was murdered, and it happened under high-pressure circumstances, close to the Council.

The Council was outraged.

Meanwhile, the other Councilmen also felt endangered.

Who would be next?
