Transmigrated as the fake young master, I'll beat up the scumbags and b*tches

Chapter 205: Rain

Chapter 205: Rain

The plane touched down smoothly, and Sui Zhao slung his bag over his shoulder, gazing at the unfamiliar scenery ahead.

It was just another unfamiliar city, but to him, he was already used to weaving through cities like this.

His job required him to be prepared before arrival, and this time was no different.

However, this particular assignment was unique. His employer wanted him to meet someone in this city.

Of course, Sui Zhao had no idea who his employer was. In his line of work, not knowing certain details was par for the course.

As he stepped out of the airport, he rubbed the back of his neck and glanced up at the dark sky.

In the blink of an eye, torrential rain poured down.

In the distance, a faint rumble of thunder echoed across the horizon.

Sui Zhao was slightly surprised; his plans hadn’t accounted for rain today.

The weather forecast had "lied"’ as it sometimes did.

Still, he figured this was merely an accident—likely the only unexpected event of this trip.

But when he met the person his employer wanted him to connect with, Sui Zhao realized his plans were once again off track.

Sitting across from him was a student.

A student? He hadn’t heard that the contact would be a kid.

He began to doubt the legitimacy of this task, but since the employer had already paid upfront and insisted it was real, he pressed on.

Rich kids with money to burn, Sui Zhao thought. Not that it mattered to him—he got paid to do a job, and he’d do it.

"So, who do you want me to kill?"

Sui Zhao’s voice was calm, as though he were discussing the weather.

Sitting across from him, none other than Han ShuYi!

On the phone, he had been instructed to meet this person, and now here they were. Han ShuYi's unassuming appearance betrayed no sign of his intentions.

Han ShuYi didn't question the hire either. After all, the objective was clear: eliminate HuMing.

If they couldn’t even deal with HuMing, Han ShuYi thought, then this so-called professional wasn’t worth the money.

Calmly, Han ShuYi pulled a photograph from his pocket and slid it onto the table. It was a picture of HuMing.

"I need you to make him disappear quietly. No traces."

"That’s tricky. Nobody vanishes without a trace. I can stage it as an accident, though."

"That works. As long as he’s gone, you can handle it however you see fit."

Sui Zhao nodded, studying the photo of a handsome young man with a commanding aura.

Too bad, he thought. He had crossed the wrong person, and soon, this promising individual would vanish from the world.

With that thought, Sui Zhao silently donned his hat and tucked the photo into his pocket.

"I’ve already received the payment. Anything else you need?"

In their line of work, they also had to compete.

After all, it was still somewhat of a service industry, and if the employer left a bad review, it would affect their reputation.

Han ShuYi paused briefly before speaking.

"Can you arrange for him to talk to me before he dies? I want to see him go with my own eyes."

"Huh? Sure, I can do that."

Confident in his skills, Sui Zhao knew this job—dealing with an unarmed high schooler—would be a breeze.

That said, taking out a high schooler felt a bit like swatting a fly with a cannon.

"Alright. Once you’ve caught him, bring him to me. I’ll finish it myself!"

Han ShuYi’s eyes burned with anger and a touch of excitement.

But neither of them noticed someone discreetly capturing their conversation from a nearby restaurant.

Over the next several days, Sui Zhao observed HuMing from outside the school.

From casual inquiries, he learned that HuMing did indeed have some connection to Han ShuYi, though the exact nature was murky. After all, how could a dead person reappear in the world?

As he sipped his coffee, Sui Zhao reflected on what he had learned.

HuMing seemed popular, with a solid network of friends. He didn’t get along with Han ShuYi, but he appeared to be a decent person.

Academically, HuMing excelled, consistently ranking first in the school.

Even Sui Zhao, who wasn’t well-educated, understood what that meant. This was a bright future in the making, soon to be cut short.

As he thought about it, Sui Zhao couldn’t help but curse the unfairness of the world.

The rich could play with the lives of hardworking kids clawing their way up.

Still, sympathy wouldn’t pay the bills. Too much empathy wouldn’t get him far in this business.

He might have reconsidered this job if he had known all this beforehand.

However, if the money was right, it could be considered.

These thoughts swirled as he set down his coffee and spotted his target.

HuMing was walking home with a female classmate. This complicated matters; Sui Zhao couldn’t act with witnesses around.

‘Hopefully, he goes home alone. Otherwise, I’ll need to adapt.’

"HuMing, aren’t you worried about what Han ShuYi might do?"

Ye QiuXue looked concerned as they walked along, though the two appeared relaxed.

This wasn’t an unusual sight.

Months ago, they had often been seen like this.

Now, though, it seemed natural. HuMing and Ye QiuXue had a mutual understanding, both seen as the pride of their school.

As for Han ShuYi? Let him rot.

No one respected a student council president who resorted to underhanded tactics to win a talent competition.

High school students all have their own ideas, and those ideas are often quite rebellious.

Compared to the so-called reality they see, they trust more in what they experience firsthand.

It is precisely because of this that they believe Han ShuYi is unworthy of being the student council president.

"I’m more worried about you. Stay away from me for a few days. I don’t want you getting involved."

"Alright."

Ye QiuXue nodded obediently. She understood she couldn’t help with what was coming. All she could do was wait for his return.

At a crossroads, they prepared to part ways.

But before leaving, Ye QiuXue called out.

"HuMing!"

"Hm? What is it?" he asked, turning back.

Hands clasped behind her, Ye QiuXue raised an eyebrow.

"I still owe you that trip to my hometown. I don’t like being in debt."

HuMing paused, then smiled warmly.

"I’ll make it happen soon."
