Dual Cultivation

Chapter 1117 Summoned by the Sect Leader

Chapter 1117 Summoned by the Sect Leader

"I don't care who he's cultivating with! The Sect Leader has summoned him! He will immediately stop whatever he's doing and see her!" Elder Chu spoke loudly, startling Mei Xing.

"T-the Sect Leader?! I will let him know!" Mei Xing ran back into the house and banged on Su Yang's door.

"Manager! It's an emergency! The Sect Leader is looking for you!"

Su Yang, who was plowing Lin Xinyi from behind inside his room, calmly responded, "I'll be there when I finish."

"B-but it's the Sect Leader! What if she punishes you, or worse, expels you from the sect?!" Mei Xing exclaimed in a worried tone.

"She's… ahh~"

"Right… ahhhn~!" Lin Xinyi spoke as she moaned from pleasure.

"It's fine. I know why she's looking for me. She can wait a few hours." Su Yang smiled.

"Even if you say that…. Ahn~!"

"Xiao Yang!"

Lin Xinyi abruptly halted their cultivation and stared at him with a serious expression. "We can continue our dual cultivation after you speak with the Sect Leader. If you make her wait, I'm afraid it might offend her, and you do not want to offend the Sect Leader!"

Su Yang sighed with a bittersweet smile, "Alright, I'll go speak with the Sect Leader."

He got dressed and went outside to greet Elder Chu, "Sorry for the wait, Elder Chu."

"You can save the apology for the Sect Leader later," she said.

Su Yang shrugged and followed her to the Sect Leader's living quarters.

"Stay here for a bit." Elder Chu said to him before entering the building.

"I have brought Disciple Xiao. Shall I call him inside?" she asked.

"Yes, and make sure that only he comes inside. Moreover, forbid anyone else from approaching the building until we're done, even if it's the Vice Sect Leader himself," said the Sect Leader.

"As you command."

Elder Chu went back outside and said to Su Yang, "I understand your character very well, Disciple Xiao, but you must not act like you usually do before the Sect Leader. She is not someone you can afford to offend because nobody in this sect can save you from her."

"Don't worry, Elder Chu. I am not stupid enough to offend the Sect Leader. If anything, I owe her for allowing me to leave the sect as an Outer Court disciple."

Elder Chu stared at Su Yang with a suspicious face, but she nodded and said, "Alright, I'll trust you. Go inside. The Sect Leader is waiting for you."

Su Yang didn't say anything else and walked inside the building.

Inside, the beautiful and elegant Sect Leader was sitting at the end of the room.

"Disciple Xiao greets the Sect Leader. Your beauty exceeds its reputation." Su Yang greeted her with respect that bordered reverence.

The Sect Leader's eyebrows twitched at his fake behavior, and asked, "Do you know why I summoned you today?"

He shook his head, "I'm afraid I don't have the slightest idea."

"Take a guess and entertain me."

Su Yang pondered for a moment before speaking, "Is it because of my recent accomplishments?"

"Your achievements, huh? I guess it's somewhat related, but it's not quite right."

"Then I have no clue."

"Disciple Xiao, I heard about your achievements during the Inner Court disciple assessment. With your skills, why won't you participate in the Dual Cultivation Exchange? Don't you want to become a Core Disciple as soon as possible? If you win, you can request for a direct promotion, you know?"

"I am not familiar with this Dual Cultivation Exchange, so I am not confident I will win. I only like to do something when I am comfortable with my chances," he said.

"So you'll only do something when you're confident? How idealistic and… cowardly. I thought you were much better than this."

Su Yang smiled at her mockery and asked, "What sort of image does the Sect Leader have of me? I haven't been in the sect for very long, and this is even our first meeting. Yet, you already seem to have a solid impression of who I am."

"You'll be surprised by how fast one can forge their image, especially when they're always causing a scene," she said with a slight smile.

"Anyway, allow me to ask you something now. What do you think of the Boundless Yin Yang Sect now?"

"..."

The room became silent.

"No matter your answer, I promise I won't be mad," she said.

"Is that so? Then allow me to be blunt." Su Yang began approaching the Sect Leader.

Once he was standing right in front of her, he spoke in a cold voice, "I think it's pathetic how far it's fallen."

"..."

The Sect Leader had prepared herself for a harsh response, but she didn't expect how hard it was going to hit her.

"C-can you elaborate?" she asked in a somewhat trembling voice.

"I think you should be the one explaining, Sect Leader," Su Yang replied calmly. "How did the Boundless Yin Yang Sect, once the best dual cultivation sect, fall so far that none of its disciples are confident in winning a mere Dual Cultivation Exchange?"

"And don't even bother blaming it on the God of Pleasure for leaving the sect," Su Yang continued. "I know he isn't the type to leave without imparting his teachings. Yet, in my several months here, I've seen almost none of it. Aside from a few remnants, it's as if the God of Pleasure never existed in the Boundless Yin Yang Sect."

"T-that's—!"

The Sect Leader stood up and tried to interrupt, but Su Yang continued, "As for the disciples… If I have to be honest, I think they've gotten even worse than before. Have you done anything to improve the disciples recently, Sect Leader?"

"No… I left the sect in the Vice Sect Leader's hands for the last several hundred years since I wasn't in the condition to lead," she sighed.

If anyone else were to witness this scene, they'd likely question who truly held the role of sect leader.
