Chapter 1118 The Real Reason Behind the Sect's Decline

"Wasn't in the condition to lead? Then why are you still the Sect Leader? It sounds like an excuse more than anything." Su Yang shook his head.

"And whose fault do you think it is that left me drowning in grief?" the Sect Leader suddenly shouted, her fists clenched tightly, frustration and defensiveness flaring in her eyes.

"Surely, you're not going to say it's my fault. I am just a disciple who joined less than a year ago." Su Yang shrugged.

"Are you still going to pretend you're just a mere disciple with skills far beyond what one typically achieves at your age?" the Sect Leader muttered, her gaze cold and piercing as she glared at Su Yang.

"..."

After a moment of silence, the Sect Leader fell to her knees and began sobbing uncontrollably, "Why…? Why don't you trust me? Am I really that pathetic in your eyes…?"

Su Yang's eyebrows twitched at the sound of the Sect Leader's whimpering, sounding like an innocent girl who just experienced her first breakup.

Su Yang rubbed his eyes and sighed, "Then can you tell me one thing? What happened to the dual cultivation techniques the God of Pleasure left behind?"

"They were… stolen…" she responded in an ashamed voice.

"Stolen?!" Su Yang almost couldn't believe his ears. "Who dares to steal m—the God of Pleasure's dual cultivation techniques?! Directly from the Boundless Yin Yang Sect, no less!"

"The Mystic Delight Pavilion… They threatened to completely demolish the Boundless Yin Yang Sect shortly after Su Yang's death unless we handed over his techniques to them. There was nothing we could've done since the Mystic Delight Pavilion has several God Ascension Realm cultivators…"

"It happened while I was away grieving for Su Yang's death. By the time I returned, everything had been plundered. I tried seeking help, but Su Yang's family went into hiding, and nobody was willing to associate with us after Su Yang's death."

Su Yang was fuming in anger after learning the truth.

'So this is the real reason behind the Boundless Yin Yang Sect's decline! Mystic Delight Pavilion, huh? Just you wait!' Su Yang gritted his teeth.

"The Mystic Delight Pavilion used to be our allies. We helped them grow because we saw their potential, but once they were powerful enough, they decided to betray us."

The Mystic Delight Pavilion not only stole all of Su Yang's techniques from the Boundless Yin Yang Sect, but they did so with such secrecy that only the Sect Leader, Vice Sect Leader, and a few longtime sect elders were aware of this betrayal.

"So, who was the one that gave away the God of Pleasure's techniques?" Su Yang then asked.

"The Vice Sect Leader… but I do not really blame him. Anyone would hand over their valuables after being threatened in such a manner. Our sect's life depended on it, too."

Hearing this, Su Yang sneered inwardly, 'Hmph! Knowing that old snake's character, I bet he had something to do with it.'

Su Yang had clashed with Chen Yi many times in the past and was very familiar with his character. He'd even be willing to bet that Chen Yi had a hand in the Mystic Delight Pavilion's actions.

'If I find out that you were involved, I swear on my name that I will send you to hell this time, no matter how much the Sect Leader begs me to spare you!' Su Yang swore inwardly.

"Now that you know the situation, do you still blame me?" the Sect Leader suddenly asked.

Su Yang's face stiffened.

After a moment of awkward silence, Su Yang cleared his throat and spoke, "I guess I spoke too soon. As an apology, I'll participate in the Dual Cultivation Exchange and defeat the Mystic Delight Pavilion."

"What about the other matter?" the Sect Leader asked.

"What other matter?" Su Yang raised an eyebrow, still pretending to be ignorant.

She sighed, "You're really not going to tell me? Are you waiting for me to beg you or something?"

"I am just a mere disciple! How could I ever ask the Sect Leader to beg? That's outrageous!" Su Yang acted surprised.

"Fine. Don't tell me if you don't want to."

"In that case, are we done here?"

"Leave. I don't want to see your face anymore," she sneered.

Su Yang nodded and turned around. Before walking out of the room, he muttered a few barely audible words, causing the Sect Leader's eyes to widen.

"Wait for me a little longer, Qing Wen."

Once Su Yang left the room and closed the door behind him, the Sect Leader began shedding tears again.

"Damn it… You haven't changed one bit, have you…?"

Once Elder Chu noticed Su Yang coming out, she immediately approached him.

"What happened? What did you talk with the Sect Leader about?"

Su Yang smiled and said, "It wasn't much. The Sect Leader wanted me to participate in the upcoming Dual Cultivation Exchange. Although I refused at first, she promised me that she'd let me use the Eternal Yin Yang Cave if I won. It was an offer I couldn't refuse."

"She what?!" Elder Chu cried out loud.

The Eternal Yin Yang Cave was one of the most valuable and sacred training sites within the Boundless Yin Yang Sect. Typically, only a select few sect elders and the top three disciples were granted permission to enter this revered space.

However, after Elder Chu thought about it, if Su Yang really won the Dual Cultivation Exchange, he'd essentially become the number one disciple in the sect, which is more than enough to qualify him for a spot in the Eternal Yin Yang Cave.

"If there's nothing else, I am going to prepare for the Dual Cultivation Exchange," Su Yang said a moment later.

"Go ahead…" Elder Chu nodded in a dazed manner.

Once Su Yang left, Elder Chu went back inside to find the Sect Leader wiping her tears.

"S-Sect Leader?!" Elder Chu's heart nearly jumped out of her throat after seeing this shocking scene.
