Chapter 1119 The Tenth Participant

"Damn it, Elder Chu! Why did you rush in here without knocking?! I didn't even call for you!"

The Sect Leader hastily wiped her tears after seeing Elder Chu standing by the door with a dumbfounded expression on her face.

"I-I-I am terribly sorry, Sect Leader!" Elder Chu immediately fell to her knees and began kowtowing. "I didn't mean to enter without your permission! And I most certainly didn't mean to see you cry! Please forgive this useless disciple!"

"Haaa…" the Sect Leader released a deep sigh before glaring at Elder Chu with narrowed eyes, "You will not utter a word about what you witnessed here today. Do you understand me?"

"I swear on my life that I will not say a thing!" Elder Chu shouted.

"Good. Then you are excused. Don't let anyone bother me for the next three days."

"Yes!"

Elder Chu stepped outside to stand guard. Though she wasn't required to, she felt the need to punish herself for her earlier mistake, seeing this duty as a small act of penance.

Meanwhile, Su Yang returned to his living quarters and immediately continued his dual cultivation session with Lin Xinyi.

After their cultivation, Lin Xinyi inquired in a curious tone, "Why did the Sect Leader summon you? Ah, if you cannot tell me, I understand."

"It's nothing worth keeping a secret about. The Sect Leader wanted me to participate in the Dual Cultivation Exchange," he revealed with a smile.

"Really? Why would she pick you?"

"I guess she learned of my recent assessment's result." Su Yang shrugged.

Although the sect elders who witnessed the assessment had promised each other not to disclose any details to the Sect Leader, she had somehow managed to uncover the information. Su Yang had a good idea of how she might have obtained it, but he chose to play ignorant, letting the matter slide for now.

Lin Xinyi stared at him with a perplexed expression on her face for a good moment before asking, "You didn't make her beg you to participate, right…?"

Su Yang laughed, "Of course not. That was just a joke."

"A joke? Then what about teaching her a lesson? You sounded quite serious back then."

"Did I say something like that? I don't remember."

"You…" Lin Xinyi shook her head with a slight smile.

"If you really win the Dual Cultivation Exchange, there's a good chance you'll immediately be promoted to Core Disciple."

"If I don't qualify to become a Core Disciple after all that, who will?"

"Then how are you going to prepare for the exchange? I don't know much about it, but I'll do my best to assist you," said Lin Xinyi.

Su Yang caressed her smooth legs and said, "You're already assisting me."

"Then let's keep going," she nodded with a smile.

As the day of the Dual Cultivation Exchange got closer, the disciples of the Boundless Yin Yang Sect grew more anxious, preparing themselves for their inevitable defeat to the Mystic Delight Pavilion.

Meanwhile, at the Mystic Delight Pavilion, their disciples were already celebrating their victory.

"Hahaha! What is the Boundless Yin Yang Sect thinking? How dare they challenge us to a Dual Cultivation Exchange! Does their sect leader still believe their sect is as powerful as before?"

"The only reason they managed to get so far was due to the God of Pleasure's reputation. Without him, they're just a slightly above-average sect!"

Since it was done in secrecy, most of the Mystic Delight Pavilion disciples didn't realize that the techniques they were learning had been stolen from the Boundless Yin Yang Sect and once belonged to the God of Pleasure himself.

"Sect Master, what do you think forced Sect Leader Qing to challenge us?" one of the sect elders asked.

"Why do you assume it was a forced decision?" asked the Sect Master.

"What else could it possibly be? There's no way the Boundless Yin Yang Sect could keep up with us now that we have the God of Pleasure's techniques. Moreover, we can easily destroy them whenever we feel like it."

The Sect Master fell silent for a moment before speaking, "I was shocked when she initially proposed the Dual Cultivation Exchange, but when I looked at her face, I couldn't see any doubt. I haven't seen her in such a mood for a long, long time. Perhaps I am giving her too much credit, but I think she's up to something."

Several days later, the participants for the Dual Cultivation Exchange gathered outside the Sect Leader's headquarters.

Eight handsome male disciples stood outside with the Vice Sect Leader. All of these disciples were Core Disciples.

"Sect Leader, where's the final participant? My ninth will return to the sect in a few hours at the latest," Chen Yi asked when he couldn't see the tenth participant anywhere.

"He should be here soon," she said.

"Did you manage to contact Hao Ran? Is he our tenth participant?" Chen Yi inquired with anticipation.

Hao Ran was their top male disciple, but he was unavailable at the sect, and Chen Yi couldn't contact him. Otherwise, Chen Yi would've already recruited him for the exchange.

"No, it's not Disciple Hao."

"It's not?"

Knowing that it wasn't Hao Ran, Chen Yi immediately lost interest. After all, he already had the top ten disciples recruited.

Two hours later, Chen Yi and the others noticed a figure approaching them from afar.

"Huh? What's an Inner Court disciple doing here?" one of the Core Disciples questioned out loud after seeing Su Yang.

"Wait… Isn't that Disciple Xiao, that troublemaker?" Chen Yi raised his eyebrows in a puzzled manner.

"Yes, and he'll be our tenth participant," said the Sect Leader.

"What?!" Chen Yi exclaimed in a shocked voice. "Surely, you must be joking, Sect Leader! There's no way someone who was only recently promoted to Inner Court could possibly qualify for this exchange! He'd only embarrass us!"
