Chapter 92 Barging into the castle

As Xander walked back the people in golden armours all stared at him in confusion.

"General Dreg?" One of the soldiers looked to the one with long blonde hair and the general didn't say anything as he observed the guy in front of him who came from a field of dead creatures he killed.

The general then moved forward on his horse slowly.

"State your identity young man!" General Dreg asked as he blocked Xander's path.

Xander looked up to see a handsome middle-aged man with blonde hair who's deep blue eyes was staring at him.

'This guy reminds me of Felix.' Xander thought as he spoke. "I'm Xander."

The General furrowed his brows, not quite satisfied by Xander's reply.

"Are you an adventurer?"

"Hmm, no. I just came to the city with a few of them from uhh... dragon mountain?"

The General was shocked as he heard Xander's words. And not just him, the guards and his fellow imperial soldiers were shocked.

"Did he just say dragon mountain?"

"How did he escape the shine goblin?"

"I recognize him. He was that guy in tattered and dirty clothes that came with Hex."

"No. It looks like him but this guy has better skin."

"Focus on the situation. He said he came out of dragon mountain. DRAGON MOUNTAIN!!"

"But that's impossible!"

"Haha. You still don't believe it after he just slayed a horde of advanced level beasts and even generals."

"I thought that this would be the last day of the job... but it looks like fate have other plans for me haha."

The guards continued to contemplate but General Dreg said nothing and just looked at the young man from head to toe before saying.

"You should join a guild. You'd make a lot of money with your strength." The General just turned around, shocking the rest of the imperial knights.

One of the guards rode up to him with wide eyes.

"G–General. He's walking away."

"What do you want me to do?" The General simply asked without taking his eyes off the road.

"Well. Take him back for questioning! He said he came from dragon mountain, a place YOU couldn't even enter."

The General scoffed and just replied in a calm tone, "We came here to defend the city. It's defended already, job done, we go back to castle, we eat, we happy."

The soldier finally shut up and just rode back to the castle with the other imperial guards calmly.

As Xander walked into the gate all the guards made a path for him to go through, stunning him.

'What's wrong with them?' Xander thought as he collected a lot of exp from the monsters.

'Just 900 million more and I'll get one last life stone.' Xander thought. 'Most of them were just between level 40 and 50 while rare ones of level 60 and 70 were there, there weren't much.'

Xander sighed sadly, 'I need level 90 to 100 creatures.'

As he walked and pondered when he should go and look for high level creatures a man walking by who saw the whole thing called to him.

"Hey! Hero!"

Xander looked at who was being called hero but saw the man waving at him. He looked around and pointed himself to be sure and the man nodded.

"Hero! I saw you before walking about, I think you said you're looking for two people?" The man asked.

Xander was immediately interested and nodded his head. "Yes. The guy's hair was very low and he had two swords as weapons while the girl was extremely cute and beautiful and had a golden staff."

"Hmm. I've indeed seen the two individuals with the same description as yours." The man noddedmaking Xander excited.

"Where did they go?"

"Actually. They were arrested after saving a young, innocent child from an imperial knight." The man clenched his fists as he said that. As Xander opened his mouth to speak the man continued talking. ,"Can you imagine? The kid's mom owed a tax and the kid tried to defend her from the knights and he was almost cut open by a sword. If not for those two individuals the kid and his mom would not be here today." The man shook his head.

"Yes, yes, yes. Where are they now, yes?" Xander asked impatiently.

"Hmm. You didn't hear me before, hero? They were arrested. I haven't seen them since then. They're probably dead by now."

Xander suddenly furrowed his brows as he looked at this man, trying his best not to shout at the top of his lungs as this man was talking annoying and unnecessary stuff.

"Where were they taken?" Xander mustered up a smile but it looked extremely awkward.

"To the king's castle. Over there." The man pointed to a very wide structure which was very tall and grand.

"Thank you." Xander said and dashed towards the very tall structure which was a few kilometers from where he was.

His heart was bearing extremely fast as a particular sentence from the man replayed in his mind.

"They're probably dead by now."

'No. They can't.' Xander said as he sped up but he stopped when he noticed a group of people running towards him while chasing something.

It was Seraph!

When the little dragon reached his side it jumped on his shoulder happily and curled around his neck and he rubbed it too.

"Seems like you're fine now huh." Xander said a he smiled warmly while feeling the little dragon purring on his shoulder.

His vision was caught by a screen that appeared in his vision and he turned to it.

[Dragonling 'Seraph' has evolved into a young dragon. He can transform into his evolved form at will and can harness his special attributes of lightning and void.]

"Hmm. Nice–"

"Hey! Give us that lizard!"

Xander looked forward to see a group of men in front of him all holding tools like sticks, knives, garden forks etc.

'The people chasing Seraph?' Xander recognized them.

"What did you do little guy?" He asked and Seraph purred with a smile, making cute sounds.

"Hmm. You were just having fun you say? And you ate something from his shop? Oh you swallowed the entire shop?" Xander nearly burst out laughing but he had other things to do than this.

"Change into your evolved form and show them who their messing with."

Xander said and the dragon nodded cutely.

All of a sudden clouds began to appear, blocking the sun and darkening the entire city. Lightning flashed from within the clouds making it look very terrifying and rhe people began to wonder if they angered the gods.

At that moment, Lightning struck down from the clouds on Xander and his little dragon and a cloud of smoke rose up in the area, making people cough.

"What happened?"

"Lightning struck the young man."

"MY SHOP!!"

Before they could say anything else a loud, terrifying roar bellowed all around the entire kingdom causing chills to run down people's spine and making them fear the unknown danger.
