Chapter 58 Li Hua
Chapter 58 Li Hua
"Master, I am going to the city to buy some ingredients. Please don't follow me. Use this time to relax," Kent said after freshening up.
"Who said anything about following you?" Saintess Selene chuckled lightly before turning and walking away.
"At least she won't be following me," Kent muttered under his breath before heading out. He found Uncle Drew, and before long, they departed from Alderford Mansion.
Standing by a window, Saintess Selene watched the carriage roll away with a complicated expression. A part of her wanted to follow him, but another part felt compelled to respect her disciple's wishes. In the end, she chose to trust him and returned to her meditation.
Kent, now en route with Uncle Drew, grinned as the tower confirmed Saintess Selene had decided not to follow him.
<It seems she's starting to trust me now,> Kent said to the tower.
Her trust was the first step, and it wouldn't be long before he began taking things further. After all, though Saintess Selene remained oblivious, her mischievous disciple had already set his sights on seducing her and making her his woman.
Soon enough, one of the oldest and most virtuous maidens in Althea might find herself losing her flower.
"Young Master Kent, I can only go this far," Uncle Drew said as they reached the bustling heart of the city.
"Don't worry, Uncle Drew, I'll walk from here," Kent replied, leaping down from the carriage. Without wasting a moment, he melted into the throng of people, heading directly to the herb store where he had purchased the pills a few days prior.
Along the way, the gaze of the ladies never left his body. They were all admiring him, considering his appearance akin to that of a prince from a distant kingdom.
[Looks like there are some cats hungry for a fish, Master,] the tower commented.
<Maybe I should have disguised myself a little,> Kent said to the tower.
[That would be robbing you of potential cultivation partners.]
<So we're calling them cultivation partners now? I thought we decided to call them cats,> Kent almost laughed. While he planned to have fun with the ladies, he never truly intended to sleep with just any woman he saw.
That would be too ordinary. Of course, he wouldn't mind getting into the pants of a lady he found appealing.
However, after a year of having sex every single day with a goddess, his standards had risen. While he wouldn't pursue just any woman, the ones he would go after would undoubtedly be some of the kingdom's most stunning beauties.
And the ones he would add to his harem would be even more extraordinary.
The tower had told him that if he wanted to get the most out of the Harem Tower, he should hurry and become a Root Grandmaster. This way, once he gained access to the Towers, he would understand why not everyone could be part of his harem.
Kent, engrossed in his back-and-forth conversation with the tower, failed to notice that someone had blocked his path just as he was passing in front of a cake store.
"Big brother, I'm selling banana cake. Do you want to taste some and then buy?" a little girl asked, making Kent stop in his tracks.
If he hadn't, he might have stepped on her. The girl was very small.
"Hello there... I'm Kent. What's your name?" Kent asked, looking down at the tiny girl.
"My name is Li Hua, Big brother," the small girl replied, staring up at Kent in an unusual way.
"Are you sure you're old enough to sell on this busy street?" Kent couldn't help but ask. Well, anyone meeting her for the first time would probably ask the same question.
"I am not that young, Big Brother; I'm just smaller than the average person," Li Hua said with a small smile.
"Smaller than the average person?" Kent muttered with a grin. "I'd say you're much smaller than even the smallest of average people," he added, his smile widening.
"You don't have to be rude," Li Hua pouted, clearly displeased by his comment about her size.
"Sorry about that," Kent laughed, amused by the small pout on her face.
"How much is a cake?" Kent decided to ask, changing the subject.
"One is 2 copper coins, but if you buy five, you get a discount of 2 copper coins," Li Hua replied, sounding like a seasoned businesswoman.
"Hmm... I don't have copper coins on me. Do you mind taking this?" Kent said, retrieving eight spirit stones from his storage.
Li Hua's eyes widened the moment she saw them. "Big Brother... this..."
In the kingdom, copper coins formed the basis of all currency. One hundred copper coins equaled one silver coin, and one hundred silver coins equaled one gold coin. However, the most valuable currency of all was the Spirit Stone, each worth an astonishing one hundred gold coins.
Seeing eight spirit stones in Kent's hand, Li Hua was momentarily stunned, her mind going blank. The onlookers, observing their exchange, wore identical expressions of shock and awe.
"No need to be alarmed," Kent said casually. "I don't have copper coins, so treat this as copper. That being said, I'll be taking these ten cakes. See you around, Little Li Hua." He placed the spirit stones on her tray, packed the ten cakes into his space ring, and walked away.
Li Hua was frozen for a moment, but she quickly snapped out of her daze. She hurriedly tucked the spirit stones away from prying eyes and ran into the store she managed with her grandmother.
"What a small human. I have never met someone so small before," Kent muttered as he walked away from the store.
[That is because she is no ordinary human. That small mortal girl is someone with a very powerful heavenly constitution—the Atomic Divine Body.]
"What is that?" Kent muttered in response.
[The Atomic Divine Body is a rare constitution, most commonly awakened by a peculiar race, the dwarves. However, when awakened by them, it is almost a natural occurrence. Generally, dwarves who awaken such a physique are considered ordinary by many.]
However, when a different kind of species awakens this constitution, it blooms and becomes a heavenly treasure. In this case, this little human has a future that, even at my current level, I cannot calculate. Of course, she doesn't know it yet. Nobody does.]
<What makes it a heavenly treasure?>
[All the most dangerous assassins you could ever meet—those who would come close to killing you—would either possess this kind of body or wish they did. Scratch that—if you ever meet an assassin with this body, run.]
<That serious, huh? I should become friends with this little girl before some sinister people set their sights on her,> Kent said. Explore more stories with empire
[You should do that. But you should also be ready for anything, considering the moment her existence is discovered. You would be in trouble if she is somehow linked to you.]
<Don't worry, Tower. I will become a Root Grandmaster soon, and then we can start making bold moves.>
Kent smiled, picturing the little girl. Once he was done with his business with the Alderford Family, he would come looking for her.
If only he knew they would be meeting sooner than he thought.
