Primordial Chaos Dragon Tower: Harem System

Chapter 95 It's Not My Fault You Are Poor

Chapter 95 It's Not My Fault You Are Poor

When Kent's words entered Sir Kai's ears, his decision to respect Nash's sincerity about acquiring the [Soul Shock] skill was wiped away.

He was now being offered a million spirit stones instead of the 700,000 Nash had been trying to settle for—and was even willing to compromise on 600,000.

One could say that when money comes into play, even the most sincere and respectful will turn to greed.

Indeed, Kent had picked the right weapon, and at that very moment, Sir Kai's smile widened, his eyes glinting as he imagined holding a million spirit stones soon.

Kent, followed by Li Hua, Lilian, Unity, and Saintess Selene, stepped confidently into the store.

Nash was already frowning, knowing his chances of acquiring the skill were next to nonexistent. The last thing he wanted was to lose the skill, but as it stood, he was about to lose it.

"Who are you?" Nash asked, glaring at Kent.

He had paid 50,000 spirit stones just to enter the 7th floor of the Bazaar purposely for this skill, and now, as it stood, he was about to lose it to a rather handsome fellow.

This alone made him feel uneasy. Kent's handsome smile looked ugly at that very moment.

"I am a nobody, but you can call me Master Kent. You can add 'Young' to it if you feel like 'Master' is too much," Kent said, extending his hand for a handshake.

Although his face appeared calm, he smiled inwardly at the thought of annoying someone important.

The tower had already appraised the man, and thanks to the enchanted book now merging with him, he knew quite a lot about the young man in front of him.

Kent knew moments like this, the young heirs of these influential families would result in using their names to have their way.

As expected, the young man chose to use his family name to intimidate him.

"I saw this skill book first, and if you don't know, this skill is something my Axel family is after. I will be pleased with Young Master Kent to let me have this," Nash started in a respectful tone, hoping to appear respectful.

Master Kai curses Nash in his heart for trying to use his Family name to get in the way of his acquiring a million spirit stones.

However, looking at the ladies behind Kent, he knew he was facing someone of class. He only didn't know which merchant family Kent was from.

The Axel family is a merchant family that focuses on alchemy. Its members are mostly alchemists, and it is one of the strongest merchant families in the human continent.

He just wanted to use that to his advantage, but Kent wasn't after that. His focus was on the skill book.

"I am sorry, bro, but this skill book is something I need. You can have the next best thing if you want, but I will be taking this off your hands," Kent said, turning toward Master Nash.

"Are you sure you want to do this? If you cross me, my Axel family won't take this lying down," Nash said, trying a subtle threat.

"Yeah, well, if it had been before, I would have been worried. However, do you know who this beautiful, drop-dead gorgeous woman is?" Kent smiled, gesturing toward Saintess Selene.

"Don't worry, I'll tell you. This gorgeous lady is the one and only Sword Saintess Selene, and, well, I am her disciple. So don't worry, with me hiding under my master's skirt, I'll be fine."

Nash's eyes narrowed, and his face paled slightly when he heard Kent's words. As for the ladies behind him, they were all hiding their faces.

Only Li Hua seems innocent about the whole situation.

"But I saw this skill first and negotiated a price. You can't take it just because you have some money," Nash didn't want to let go of the skill.

"I know. But it's not my fault you are poor." Kent flashed a grin and pointed backward at his master as if telling Nash the Saintess was still on his side.

He took a few steps back, and then, like an obedient child, he walked away.

It was a rule for many that whenever a situation involved one of the seven Saintesses of the Continent, whether they were right or wrong, they should just retreat.

Angering them was just plain stupid. In fact, Saintess Selene could have used her authority to bring down the Ashland family a peg, but that would just be another war she wouldn't want to fight.

If and when Kent reached that crossroads, she would stand beside him, but for now, she could just use her presence to intimidate those who might have the wrong idea about her disciple—someone she had started to see in a different light.

'Shameless, absolutely shameless. To think he wouldn't bat an eye using me as his shield. Is that the level I have been lowered to?'

She couldn't believe it. But the person in question was dangling a pouch filled with a million spirit stones before Master Kai.

"To tell you the truth, I am actually after legendary-grade skills, so if you have any, bring them out. However, you can hand over the one in your hands first."

He tossed the stones to him and received the skill book. He quickly appraised it.

[Skill Name: Soul Shock]

[Grade: Heaven]

[Rank: SSS]

[Effect:]

-- Releases a devastating wave of soul energy capable of stunning and crippling enemies.

-- Causes excruciating pain and shatters weaker souls entirely.

-- Targets multiple enemies within a 500-meter range.

-- Enemies with strong souls will suffer reduced effects but lose combat focus.

'Good one. No wonder poor Nash wanted it. I guess I didn't want a million for it. Once I upgrade it to the Legendary grade, it will become even more devastating.'

Kent tossed the skill into the Tower storage, where it would be safe for the time being. Sir Kai, who had just received the million spirit stones, became ecstatic and ran to bring the Legendary-grade skills in his possession for Kent.

In the meantime, the Saintess dragged Kent to the side and whispered.

"What are you doing?" Saintess Selene asked.

"Nothing. I just thought, why not take three beauties to town and spoil them?" Kent smiled.

"Tell me what you are really doing," she asked again.

"Nothing, as I said. But if you insist, then I can just say I'm being generous so I can get close to you. Do you think I have a shot?" Kent asked, stepping closer to her.

Lilian and Unity watched out of the corner of their eyes as they giggled inwardly. They had already started reporting everything to Vexthra, who was giving them instructions on how to proceed.

Saintess Selene took a step back and firmed herself, determined not to lose her grip and fall under Kent's charm.

Kent smiled and stepped back. "You might want to use this chance to get all the skills you want. In the future, I'll depend on you to save me when I get into trouble." With that, Kent moved back to give her breathing space.

A few minutes later, Sir Kai came out with eight Legendary-grade skills for Kent and his ladies to select from. He spent 120 million there for four more skills. Two went to Lilian, one to Unity, and the other to Saintess Selene.

They then went to the weapons store to buy a bow for Unity.
